The first secret in the Resident Evil mansion may take you by surprise. When you first walk into the mansion, you'll see a podium with a typewriter behind the card table. When you read the printed text, you'll receive an ominous message.

"L-O-O-K U-P..."

-The Old Typewriter

A zombie appears after reading the message, groaning above you in the upper corridor! It's creepy enough to skip your heart a beat but so funny that you'll cackle for a good minute afterward.

This next secret is for diehard fans of the Resident Evil series. If you walk up the stairs to the upper corridor, your character can examine two portraits taken straight from the game. Granted, you won't see the pictures, but your character will describe them.

The portrait on the left-hand side of the corridor is a "picture of a well-rounded woman." Then, after walking to the right-hand side of the corridor, you'll find a "picture of a cute woman." These paintings are call-backs to portraiture from Spencer Mansion's exhibition room.

There are four dark archways under the mansion's upper corridor, two to the left of the staircase and two to the right. Three of these archways are only for show. However, the archway to the far-left of the staircase leads to a room jam-packed with zombies! (Luckily, they're all actors. So, they won't hurt you!)

If you look in the far-right corner of the room, you'll see a treasure chest. Inside the chest is a new card! However, to get the card, you need to surpass th⛎e horde of zombies. So, how do you accomplish this feat?

To solve this puzzle, you need to navigate the moving gray zombies. The brown zombies create a barrier, but they don't move, making them less annoying. Here's a table to give you an idea of their movement.

Key:

The scale of the puzzle is six by six cells.

  • H (Human): The one human shooting at a zombie in the upper-left corner of the room.
  • T (Treasure): The treasure chest in the upper-right corner of the room.
  • G1, 2, 3, 4 (Gray Zombies): These are the four moving zombies in the zombie puzzle. There are movement summaries next to each symbol and arrows tracking each path.
  • B (Brown Zombies): The brown zombies form a barrier in the puzzle.
  • D (Dead Zombie): This gray zombie is grounded and cannot move.

While this may seem like a lot of movement, it's straightforward to navigate. Utilizing the B button to dash is a great tactic to quickly move you to a new space once it becomes available. If you interrupt a zombie's walking pattern, they'll continue to walk towards you and block your path. You should move out of the way and adjust your timing on your following approach when this happens.

This last easter egg is not a secret, but it's still super neat! Not only do you get to see zombies in the Resident Evil mansion, but you can also play cards with them! For instance, a zombie is SC Park's final boss.

First, to play against the zombie, you have to defeat Mikami and Yuri. You'll find the two of them playing against each other at the card table when you first enter the mansion. After defeating them both, the zombie will appear. Then, you can approach the zombie, and they will challenge you to a card battle.

As expected, the zombie's deck has a fair share of Zombie character cards. At first glance, these card seems relatively weak. After all, their BP is only 200, and they add no SP. However, multiple zombies can back up each other. Furthermore, this character has a square ability called Resident Evil, which kills the zombie and changes another character into a zombie.

The Resident Evil skill is a double-edged sword. On the one hand, a player can use it to decrease the BP of a high-powered card. On the other hand, if the enemy's newly infected zombie card remains in play, it can also infect one of the former player's cards. In other words, keeping a zombie card in play can turn into a game of T-Virus Hot Potato. Therefore, take down zombies fast when they enter the ring. If one of your cards becomes infected, infect one of your enemy's cards to weaken it and then attack it with a strong character card to get it out of play.
