The opening weekend of the third season of the Overwatch League finally felt like the culmination of everythi✅ng the league had been working on prior to it. A franchised, city-based league where teams host home matches was virtually unheard of but they went for it and the results dazzled.

While the Overwatch League held the vast majority of matches at Blizzard Arena in Los Angeles (aꦕside from Grand Finals, Dallas, Atlanta and LA), they were always building towards the moment the league could go full home/away format. The moment has come and if the sold-out crowds in New York and Dallas were any indication, the gamble might just pay off.

All of the "trial" Homestands in 2019 held by Dallas, Atlanta and the Los Ange🤡les Valiant were incredibly successful and hinted at a possible lo🀅ok into the future of the Overwatch League. That future finally came to fruition in Dallas and New York over the weekend where a handful of teams played in front of sold-out crowds filled with passion, excitement and a intense hunger to finally see their favorite teams play live.

I come from a traditional sports background and one of the best parts of the Overwatch League to me is the way it 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:models itself after traditionꦡal sꦰports leagues. The true impact of this was felt (especially in New York) when the raucous shouts of fans roared througho💎ut the arena as the Excelsior made their first appearance in front of their homecrowd.

From MVP chants to deafening boos for the opposition - every elimination, teamfight win, map win and match victory felt like the biggest moment in the world and added an entirely new depth to the Overwatch League experience. Fans of the league are passiona🦄te about it and that 🥂passion was on full display over the weekend.

Sold-out crowds are amazing for any type of entertainment. Fans provide the raw passion and a new level of exhilaration stems from that. It was clear the league fans in Dallas and New York were hungry for their teams to come home and Philadelphia this weekend looks ▨to sell-out marking the first two weekends of the new season a rousing success. This was the dream for the Overwatch League since the beginning and now that it is coming to fruition, it's a sight to behold. I can't wait for the day when I get to be in one of the crowds and feel the weight of it all.
