Someday You’ll Return released earlier this month to a rather lukewarm receptiಞon - with a 2.5 ou🐽t of 5-Star rating coming from TheGamer. Although the breathtaking visuals were worthy of a standing ovation, the game fell short for its clunky character models, a ho-hum puzzle and crafting system, and ultimately being too similar to every other title witဣhin the already over-saturated market in the psychological horror genre.

However, whereas most post-launch updates add in features that are missing at launch, the developers at CBE Software have actually removed content in an attempt to make the game better, and - maybe more importantly - let players know that their feedbackꦿ is genuinely being taken to heart.

“After reading feedback from our customers, it became clear to us that some parts of the game, mostly in the s🌞econd half, were not enjoyed as we had expected them to be. We took a hard look at the game and asked ourselves how we could make it better. While it i🍌s very important for us to remain true to our vision for the game, we felt if there were ways we could make improvements without compromise, we should do this even if it means sacrificing months of hard work,” said Jan Kavan, CBE Software co-founder.

K⭕avan went on to say that hours of “superfluous” content, such as unnecessary puzzles, were removed, though players who wish to find the “missing” pieces of the game can still do so by💛 intimately exploring the various in-game locations.

The stealth mechanic was also overhauled with a potion being added that turns players invisible to avoid having to worry about being stealthy. Of course, the original stealth system remains in the game for players who pref⛎er that sort of experience.

Someday You’ll Return might not be the psychological horr🍸or title of th൩e year, but hopefully the changes make the game a bit more accessible for gamers. At the very least, players should keep in mind that the developers have their best interests in mind and wish to provide players with a solid, fun in-game experience. That alone should be enough to make Someday You’ll Return worth a second look.
