For all its good qualities, there was one area where the 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Sonic The Hedgehog movie was sorely lacking: Sonic characters.
While Sonic and Robotnik were featured heavily – as well as a character whose name rhymes with “Pails” – there weren't many appearances from other members of the extended Sonic universe. Unless, that is, James Marsden was secretly supposed to be Knuckles and we all missed it. Sequels are where you have to go bigger and better, so that means in Sonic The Hedgehog 2 we're ဣgoing to need even more anthropomorp🍎hic CGI creatures running at ludicrous speeds.
But it’s one thing to declare which of Sonic’s friends need to be in the second movie. The real question is who will play them? Ben Schwartz turned out to be pitch-perfect casting for the blue blur, but who can take on the momentous task of playing such iconic characters like Nack The Weasel or Marine The Raccoon? Well, we here at TheGamer are the masters of arbitrarily casting actors for roles in movies that don’t exist yet, and that’s why we know exactly who should show up in the next Sonic movie and who should play them.
Vector The Crocodile
There’s no way to know what the plot will be for the Sonic sequel, but it couldn’t hurt to have a crime-solving crocodile on hand to help. Perhaps Vector will solve the mystery of the missing rings or he’ll just be around for Sonic to make terrible crocodile puns. There’s a ton of furry characters in Sonic lore, so we 🔯need one with scales toღ make things interesting for the animators.
Who Should Play Him?
Obviously, it has to be Matthew McConaughey. To play Vector, we need someone who can portray a clever gumshoe with a bossy attitude and a laidback charm. Anyone who's seen True Detective knows that McConaughey is more than capable of solving a crime no matter how violent or Lovecraftian it gets. He's the perfect casting choice to give the Sonic sequel a bit more gravitas. Can't𓂃 you just picture his voice coming out of a crocodile's mouth?
Shadow The Hedgehog
The second movie in a franchise usually aims for a darker tone, so adding in Sonic's dar𒉰k doppelganger just makes sense. Robotnik will likely return to bring chaos to Sonic's life again, but we're going to need a secondary antagonist to back up Jim Carrey's mustachioed madman. That's where Shadow comes in. He could play the misunderstood henchman who's unaware that he's being manipulated by Robotnik in his quest to obtain the Chaos Emeralds (🌼because you just know they're going to work those into the next film.) On top of that, he could also have all kinds of cool gunfights with Sonic. Because after all, every children's film could always use more gunfights.
Who Should Play Him?
Who can do dark and brooding better than Adam Driver? He just got finished carrying the 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Star Wars sequels on his back with his portrayal of Kylo Ren. He knows how to play dark, brooding, conflicted characters, and Shadow may be the darkest, broodiest character of all. If you need someone to gi✤ve moody soliloquies, then Mr. Driver is your man.
Rouge The Bat
If we're going to include Shadow, we also need to throw in his partner in crime, Rouge The Bat. Sure, the oddly voluptuous bat lady may be a bit risque for a Sonic movie considering these films are primarily targeted towards kids. But if Sega and Paramount want to rake in all the money they can, they have to cater the other side of Sonic fandom: the creepy weirdos who are realꦗly into sexy bats.
Who Should Play Her?
Considering who we picked for Shadow, Scarlett Johansson makes a whole lot of sense. She and Adam Driver recently starred in the Oscar-nominated drama Marriage Story. It earned heaps of praise and was considered to be one of the best movies of 2019. So why not try to replicate that success by casting them together into another hit movie? Maybe lightning will strike twice and we can look forward to seeing the Sonic sequel lis⛄ted with the rest of the Best Picture nominees in the future.
Blaze The Cat
While Amy Rose might make sense if we're trying to add in more female characters from the Sonic universe, that seems a bit too obvious. That's why we're going with the more left-field pick of Blaze The Cat. She's a princess, she's calm and collected, and she cᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚ𒀱ᩚᩚᩚan set things on fire with her mind. What does Amy have? A hammer and an unhealthy romantic obsession with Sonic? Nah, we'll go with the fire cat instead.
Who Should Play Her?
Let's face it, there's bound to be a producer or two right now who's chomping at the bit to cast Billie Eilish in a movie. She's one of the biggest pop stars in the world and her fans would probably be willing to see any movie as long as she's featured in it. Putting her in the Sonic sequel would be perfect as we're sure there's some overlap between Billie Eilish fans and Sonic f𝔍ans. Plus, having her play a character whose name 🗹is Blaze just seems right for some reason.
Big The Cat
Oh sure, Big The Cat might not be anyone's favorite Sonic character. Maybe it's the fact that all his missions in Sonic Adventure revolved around fishing. Maybe it's hisಞ strange relationship with his pet frog. Maybe it's because he's an irritatingly stupid character whose low intelligence is borderline offensive.
But damn it, he's Big The Cat, and for the sake of shock value, we need to see what they come up with if he makes it to movie theatres. There were world-class artists working on the Sonic movie, 🐎and they still managed to make the trainwreck that was his original design. Just imagine the nightmare fuel they'll come up with for Big's big-screen debut. It might be so terrifying that they have to classify the next movie as a horror film.
Who Should Play Him?
It just works, doesn't it? You can almost hear it in your head right now. Gary Busey as Big The Cat is such inspired casting that we deserve a cut of the Sonic sequel box office if it happens. It's the kind of role that might redefine his career. If Paramount and Sega have the cojones to make it happen, then we're confident that Gary will turn Big💃 The Cat into one of the most endearing, sympathetic characters in cinematic history.
Those are our picks and casting choices for the next Sonic movie. We can only hope that the next film is so successful that it inspires an entire extended Sonic cinematic🍨 universe where every character gets their own movie.
If that happens, hopefully, we'll finally get the Espio The Cha♍meleon film that we've all been wishing for.
