There are plenty of ways to play the original Sonic the Hedgehog games — including through the 🦂Sega🌞 Ages versions also available on Switch — but Sonic Origins is the definitive way to play the first four platformers in the series. Sonic Origins includes remastered versions of Sonic the Hedgehog, Sonic the Hedgehog 2, Sonic CD, and Sonic the Hedgehog 3 & Knuckles.
Each title has been improved significantly with new widescreen modes, the ability to play as either Knuckles or Tails in almost any game, and new animated cutscenes that are incredibly charming. It also has an in-game museum that you can fill with collectibles earned by completing achievements or spending the coins you earn between levels. Sonic Generations originally launched toward the end of 2011 and was quickly hailed as one of the Blue Blur's greatest adventures since the original trilogy for Sega Genesiওs. The past meets the future in this ambitious title that features both 2D and 3D stages that simultaneously celebrate the series' history while offering a glimpse of what could be onꦓ the horizon.
Over a decade later, Sonic Generations is back and better than ever with updated visuals, and it holds up surprisingly well. The best part of the package, however, is the brand-new campaign starring Shadow the H🐓edgehog. Shadow Generations features visually stunning stages, a pulse-pounding soundtrack, and a DLC pack starring Keanu Reeves as the voice of Shadow.
