Miles "Tails" Prower, Sonic's genius kid brother and best buddy, will be voiced by his video game voice actor, Colleen O’Shaughnessey, in the upcoming Sonic movie sequel.

O'Shaughnessy, who has been voicing Tails since the Sonic Boom days of the mid-2010s, made the announcement on Twitter on Tuesday. She wrote that she was "taking my old pal Tails for another adventure," and announced that she had been cast to voice the character in the movie, and said she can't wait for fans to see him on the big screen.

O'Shaughnessy will be joining Ben Schwartz, who leads the movie as the voice of the titular Blue Blur, and Idris Elba, who ann🐽ounced four months ago that he would be voicing Knಌuckles the Echidna. The only caveat is, 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:he won't be giving him a sexy voice.

O'Shaughnessy reprising her role as Tails in the Sonic movie sequel is considered a big win for Sonic fans and the voice acting world in general. It's very rare for a voice actor involved with the original source material to get cast in a big-budget animated film based on it. Illumination cast Chris Pratt to voice Maꦰrio in the animated Super Mario movie and relegated long-time Mario voice actor Charles Martinet to more minor roles, for example. Luckily, Sonic fans will get to enjoy O'Shaugnessey's performance as Tails once again.
