A new trailer for Sonic Prime that just debuted as part of Sonic Central 2023 reveals that Metal Sonic is seemingly going to be one of the antagonists of the second season.Today marks the 32nd birthday of and, to celebrate, Sega released a . One of the most interesting parts of the showcase was a new trailer for the second season of Sonic Prime, which gave us a brief look at more of Sonic and Shadow's rivalry and even teased the return of a fan-favourite villain.Related: Thank God, Sonic Superstars 🐈Understands The♐ Assignment, we see Sonic standing with the New Yoke City versions of Knuckles and Rouge the Bat while a door dramatically opens in front of them. Although Sonic thinks that it's Nines (the New Yoke City version of Tails), it's quickly revealed to instead be Sonic Prime's take on Metal Sonic, complete with a brand-new design. That being said, it's worth remembering that this is a Shatterverse version of the character, which means that the original Metal Sonic is likely still out there, so don't fret too much if you aren't a fan of the new look.Outside of Metal Sonic, the rest of the trailer showed Shadow beating the snot out of Sonic before taking him to a ruined Green Hill Zone and revealing that they need to piece together the shattered crystals to fix the multiverse.
