Sonic Superstars: Lagoon City, Act One - Jellyfish Boss Guide
Perhaps one of the easiest bosses to take down since the very first 'tutorial boss' back in the Bridge Island Stage is the Jellyfish in Lagoon City, as you🐽 quit📖e literally only need to activate one move to defeat it!
Avatar Chaos Emerald Ability = Win
As soon as the encounter begins, the Jellyfish will summon a sea of waterbugs above you that you can jump at to destroy and clear space. After this attack is launched and you're safe from the bugs, activate your Avatar Chaos Emerald Ability to defeat the Jellyfish in a few seconds.
The onslaught of Clones will stunlock the Jellyfish, enabling them to land all the necessary hits to destroy it, giving you a swift victoꦫry in mere seconds. As mentioned earlier, this is one of the most effortless encounters in the entire game if you utilize this method!
Sonic Superstars: Lagoon City, Act Two - Robotnik Boss Guide
Now that the Jellyfish is out of the way, it's time to move on to the more challenging encounter of the two, and that's yet another showdown with Doctor Robotnik. This fight will have you fighting for your life underwater for a decent portion, so be prepared to gather Air Bubbles and Rings to survive all four phases!
All Phases: Underwater Platforming
After landing a hit on Doctor Robotnik, he will fire Missiles into the walls above, causing water to flood the area below, forcing you to platform back up to Robotnik through the water. Here, you must collect Air Bubbles to keep from drowning, which will always be generated nearby!
All Phases: Whirlpool
If you take too long during the platforming section, Robotnik will drop a large rotating blade deep into the water, violently spinning the water and creating a whirlpool. This will bring you above the water near Robotnik, enabling you to essentially get a free hit on him.
Phase One: Lightning Orbs
During the first underwater platforming section, Robotnik will periodically fire off a group of four Lightning Orbs, forcing you to dodge them on your way up. Try getting in the gap between the Orbs, let them pass you, then jump to the platform above you and repeat until you reach the surface!
Phase One: Surface Attack
Once you've reached the surface, you will see two platforms, one on the right and another on the left. Jump onto either of them, then use it to jump into the bottom of Robotnik's machine to damage him, causing him to shift into his second phase!
Phase Two: Water Drills
On your way up to Robotnik during the second underwater platforming section, he will launch Water Drills at you. The propellers on the Water Drills cause a slight updraft, enabling you to use the force to boost you higher in the water to reach the elevated platforms.
This platforming section is rough, and it may be easier to collect Air Bubbles and let the Whirlpool bring you to the surface. Nonethel🎉ess, these are your options for getting back ജto Robotnik!
Phase Two: Surface Attack
When arriving at the top, use the platforms to jump into the bottom of Robotnik's machine yet again to damage him, brinꦺging him slightly closer to defeat🥂 than before!
Phase Two: Repeat
After that, the next portion is the exact same as what you just did: Use the propellers on the Water Drills to reach the higher platforms or let the Whirlpool bring you to the top, then jump into the bottom of Robotnik's machine to damage him further!
Phase Three: Missiles
Following the repeated phase two strategy, phase three will finally begin, this time having Robotnik launch large heat-seeking Missiles at you that explode into tiny missiles on impact, which also explode and deal considerable damage.
Have the Missiles guide to you in such a way they will collide with the bottom of the platform you're standing on, then quickly move to the next highest platform to avoid the tinier ones. Don't forget to gather Air Bubbles or about the Whirlpool that can bypass this entire bit!
Phase Three: Surface Attack
At the top, you already know what to do by now: use the platforms to jump into the bottom of the machine Robotnik is piloting, causing him to take significant damage cauꦆsing him to moveﷺ into the fourth and final phase!
Phase Four: Avatar Chaos Emerald Ability
Lastly, the fourth and final phase has Robotnik change things up a bit and move to the right, causing you to shift into a whole new area. However, we have a trick up our sleeve to counter this, and that's our trusty Avatar Chaos Emerald Ability.
Activate the Avatar Chaos Emerald Ability as soon as you enter the new room with Robotnik. The wave of Clones will keep him in place, delivering all the hits needed to destroy his fancy new machine,ꦆ clearing the Lagoon City Stage!
