168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Sonic the Hedgehog has been in theaters less than a week and shocking almost everyone, it is actually doing really well. In fact, the movie is already the most successful feature-length film based on a video game in history. (Suck it, 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Detective Pikachu!) More importantly,🐻 people seem to genuinely love it, an♓d so much so that with each passing day, a sequel seems more and more inevitable.
Paramount and Sega have given themselves plenty to work with should a sequel be on the cards, and we're not only referring to that mid-credits scene, which we will talk about later. First thing's first, like any great hero, there's no Sonic without an iconic villain to play off of. For Sonicܫ, that villain has always been Dr.ꦿ Robotnik. Robotnik might be stranded on the Mushroom Planet right now, but as he assured viewers, he will make it back to Earth.
Dr. Robotnik Isn't Alone On The Mushroom Planet
Sonic repeatedly sells the Mushroom Planet as a baron land that supports life but has no inhabitants. However, in Sonic the Hedgehog 2, Robotnik might well encounter someone else as he traverses the funghi. Someone else who has traveled there via one of the rings Sonic uses to skip between planets. Robotnik's savior could be someone else who might well ꦏbe on the hunt for Sonic -- Knuckles.
Knuckles appearing in Sonic 2 isn't just wishful thinking. The creatures chasing baby Sonic and Longclaw at the start of the movie are echidnas. Since Knuckles is an echidna, there's even a chance he was among the pack that killed Sonic's surrogate parent. Since Sonic escaped to Earth through a ring, Knuckles and his fellow echidnas may have been continuing their search for th𓄧e bღlue blur on other planets.
Tails Is Sent To Warn Sonic
Rings appear to be the only way of transporting between planets, although try telling that to Robotnik. However, there's still the not-so-minor issue of finding Sonic 🦄once Knuckles has arrived on the right planet. That's where Robotnik comes in. Since the Doctor is on a planet all alone, he will be ꦰfar easier to find than Sonic. Should he and Knuckles cross paths, the pair might team up and head back to Earth to end the hedgehog. Robotnik knows Sonic is there after all.
That's where that aforementioned mid-credits scene comes into play, as promised. Knuckles' appearance in a potential sequel hasn't been con✨firmed, but Tails' has. The squirrel arrives on Earth through a ring in search oꦡf Sonic. (Sidenote: that confirms Sonic isn't the only one with rings/the ability to travel between planets.) Knuckles might be terrorizing Sonic's home planet on his quest to find the hedgehog or might have even brought Robotnik back with him. That's what prompts Tails to head to Earth to find Sonic, or maybe warn him.
The movie appeared to follow some of the traits and elements introduced via Sonic's many games more closely than we imagined it would. This is why, if Knuckles does appear in Sonic 2, Robotnik will be the one pulling his strings. Knuckles debuted in Sonic 3 as an enemy of the hedgehog before becoming his friend. In that instance, Robotnik tricked Knuckles into believing Sonic was the real villain. Perhaps we could see a similar scenario play out in Sonic the Hedgehog 2.
Though a sequel hasn't been officiall♈y announced, we're hopeful that one will be hitting theaters sooner than we think.
