Sonic the Hedgehog was actually supposed to have been released this month. It's understandable that turning an animated character into something suitable to appear in a live-action movie is hard, but it seemed as if real-life Sonic's creators hadn't even tried.

The good news is that the Sonic redesign is complete, and the tweaked blue hedgehog looks much more like the one we know and love from the video games. We still have one big question that has been left unanswered, though: why did it take so long?

That means no reshoots were required, just changes to the CGI hedgehog. What's more, the VFX designer who worked on the movie has . Truth be told, even if it had taken twice as long, we'd still have welcomed the change. Paramount could have doubled down, ignored the complaints, and gone ahead with the movie as planned. Perhaps it took these past six months to change other parts of the movie because let's be honest, Sonic desi𒁃gn aside, it still doesn't look like it's going to be all that great.
