Find out where each Sonic game clocks⛦ in on the speedometer!

Of cours🥀e, this means you'll be forced to learn some new mechanics and figure out how best to use them. 💯In this guide, we’ll go over all of Shadow’s new Doom Powers and what you can use them for.

Chaos Control

Using Chaos Control to stop time in Sonic X Shadow Generations. The screen is grayed out, aside for some green effects on the top and bottom of the screen

This will be familiar to any Sonic fan. Chaos Control has been Shadow's signature ability since his debut in 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Sonic Adventure 2, so it’s no 𒈔surprise th🔯at it’s made a return for Sonic X Shadow Generations.

You can use this to freeze time. T🦩his means that stage haz𝓀ards and enemies freeze, letting you get by particularly dangerous areas. However, it can sometimes be used to take shortcuts. These shortcuts will be clearly indicated on the screen by green sparkles if you pass one.

To use Chaos Control, you need to fill up the gauge at the bottom of the screen by defeating enemies. For the most part, you can use it whenever you want, but there are a few moments throughout the game where you need to use it to progress. The ga🍰me makes this very clear, prompting you to activate it when it’s necessary.

Doom Spears

Shadow running through a stage in Sonic X Shadow Generations. He's locked onto enemies, about to attack them with projectiles

In Sonic Generations, Shadow uses Doom Spears against us when we fight him a🉐s Sonic. Now, we can use them ourselves.

This projectile attack locks onto targets automatically. To use it, hold the relevant button to activate them, and wait for it to target enemies. It can target up to five enemies at a time. A handy way to use this is to lock on to enemies that block your path, sinceᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ𒀱ᩚᩚᩚ this stuns them, making them unable to attack you as you get closer.

There are a few times when the Doom Spears can also be used to activate switches. If you think you’re stuck, use this projectile, as it might turn out there’s a s🔴wit🔜ch you can’t see that needs to be pressed in order to proceed.

Doom Blast

Shadow launches an enemy into the sky, and is choosing which direction to kick them in in Shadow Generations.

Doom Blast is much more situational than the other abilities we’v🥂e gone over. Whereas the others can be deployed whenever you want, and are occasionally necessary for progreওssion, Doom Blast only works on certain enemies when absolutely needed to get through a stage, or through the hub area.

When you’re prompted to use Doom Blast, you’re able to launch an enemy into the air. From here, you have some time to choose which direction you want to launch the enemy in. You’ll then telepo𝕴rt to the enemy, s๊o the move can be used to cover great distances you wouldn’t otherwise be able to reach.

You’ll also use Doom Blast in a boss fight. Here, you’ll be prompted to launch the boss into hazards, so they take damage. But for the most part, you’re using it for specific platforming segments.

Doom Surf

Shadow surfing on a body of water via the Doom Surf ability in Shadow Generations.

Another very situational ability, but one that grants you more freedom. This lets Shadow traverse across water, unlocking new parts of the hub area, as well as being used in some stage🐟s.

Doom Surf kicks in automatically as soon as you walk or jump into a body of water. So, don’t worry about a💙ctivating it beforehand - unlike Sonic, Shadow doesn’t risk drowning.

Doom Morph

Shadow surfing across "corrupted" water which is purple

Doom Morph unlocks new areas by letting you traverse parts of the map that you couldn’t before. In the hub area, this means being able to swim in the corruption that otherwise slows you down.

It also lets you traverse across corruption on the walls, so keep an eye out for new areas you couldn'♊t reach before.

You can only activate Doom Morph by homing into special morph balls. Once you do this, you can safely swim across the corruption. You can also grapple on morph balls while already in Doom Morph to reach areas you couldn’t otherwise. By releasing at the riꦡghꦰt time, you can also choose the angle you're launched at from morph balls.

Doom Wing

Shadow using the Doom Wings to fly across the map in Shadow Generations.

As the final ability, you𝕴’re only unlocking this towards the end of the game. However, once you do, it unlocks a completely new way to get through a stage as Shadow.

This comes into play in the final level. You can choose whether to use the wings or not, but it does make for a nice change of pace, and gives you new ways to get through the stage.

Once you'v🅷e unlocked Doom Wing, you can go back and use it on previous stages too.

You’ll need at least 50 rings before you can activate the ability. Once you can, Shadow can stay in the air longer, meaning you can take new paths and make longer jumps. You’ll also use it in the final boss, a bit like how Sonic becomes Super Sonic in the final boss of his own story. It will continually drain your Rings while in use, so keep a close eye on them.
