In the original Sonic Generations, you could unlock piles and piles of concept art, music, and information about previous Sonic games through collectibles in levels and completing challenge acts. For Shadow, it works a little differently though. More of his collectibles are hidden within levels, and the artworks and music you so covet are hidden across the open-world hub, White Space. There is a very large am♉ount to find here, so let's get you started on where to find every one of the Collection Boxes.

How Do You Unlock Collection Boxes?

When you encounter a Collection Box, your first thought mi🐭ght be to just run up and open it. Discovering it in the first place is its own challenge, right? Except Shadow Generations wants you to work a little bit harder than that. Each type of chest has a respective key it requires, and these keys are hidden throughout bo🃏th the Main Acts and the Challenge Acts.

• Green Collection Boxes give you segments of Shadow's History, of which there are 10.
• Yellow Collection Boxes give you Music you can set on any Act, of which there are 22 hidden in Collection Boxes.
• Blue Collection Boxes give you Artwork to admire in the Collection Room, of which there are 54 hidden in Collection Boxes.

In total, that gives us 96 Collection Boxes to open, which means you have to find every single key in every singl🌸e Act to unlock all of them. The𓂃re are no extras.

Not every piece of Music and Artwork is found in Collection Boxes, plenty of them acquired from Challenge Acts as well. All of Shadow's History is found in Collection Boxes, however.

Where To Find Every Collection Box

Of the 96 Collection Boxes to be found, every single one of them are found in White Space, and none are permanently missable. This gives you plenty of freedom to discover them at your own pace. Even if you find a Collection Box b♑ut can't open it immediately, it will become marked on the map in red so you know where to find it once you have its respective key.

You will need to finish the story of Shadow Generations b🥂efore ♏you can acquire every single Collection Box.

The vast majority of the chests are hiding in plain sight, with their distinctive colours making them all the easier to discover. That said, some are intentionally hidden in quite out of the way locations, so here are some tip𝕴s to make your searching a bit easier.

• Break every wooden box you see. Often times they will be obscuring a Collection Box or even have one hidden inside it.
• Even if an area seems unsuspecting, check. Collection Boxes are often hidden inside small corners just barely out of the way.
• Take advantage of Doom Wings once you unlock them. Being able to hover above makes some of the more unusually placed Collection Boxes much easier to reach.

The only issue with this final bit of advice is the game's draw distance. Often times, some Collection Boxes won't have spawned in yet, so make sure to examine everything up close.

A major piece of information to keep in mind. Once you unlock Radical Highway, a series of road appearing leading up to the great sphere in the sky, but disappears once you complete the game. There are two Collection Boxes hidden up here, though😼 thankfully the pathway up can be restored by activating the newly added Doom Sphere in the centre of White Space.

Another location to take note of is the underground section. It can initially be accessed by a well near the centre of the map, though can later also be accessed through a cave at the bottom of the Chaos Island area. There are multiple Collection Boxes hidden in here, the majority of which require Doom Morph t♏o be able to rꩲeach.

The final tricky Collection Boxes are hidden in the upper level of the Citadel in the Rail Canyon area, which require Doom Blast to reach. When using Doom Blast on the enemy used to reach the Biolizard boss fight, aim them a little higher. There won't be a lock-on point here, but you should see the ledge. Is There A Reward For Opening Every Collection Box?

Each Collection Box comes with with its own reward,𓆉 though finding all of them is a gargantuan task that is surely worthy of an extra prize, right? Nope, sadly not.

What you get when you open a Collection Box is all you will ever get, even when you finally open all 96 of them. A small conciliation prize comes in the form of the All Collection Boxes Opened trophy, though not much else.
