For starters, they drink water, they sometimes back off from a fight if you show them no ill intent, and they help their own when wounded. Although some types of cannibals attack other types, they still seem to have a preference for existing in tribes.
But most of all, their strangest characteristic is that they mourn their dead, something you don’t expect out of a monster that is no longer human, and which literally eats human flesh. It is unclear if cannibals, like mutants, were once human, or if they are native creatures to the island. Populating a gated cavern underneath Virginia’s bunker that is overflowing with magma and brimstone, it is unclear if the demons rubbed off on Virgin🦩ia or if Virginia’s friendly and playful character swayed the demons to her good side. A mutant herself, she🌊 is the only friendly monster you will ever meet in-game, fulfilling the role of a companion NPC.
8 How Did Timmy Make It To🐬 The Cube First? ꦆ
A little towards the end of the game, the clues you find across🌊 the island inevitably lead you to the golden cube, a “safe place” where you can take shelter from the deadly lunar event 💙that happens every eight moon cycles, sending lethal reverberations across the island that trigger transformations or kill mutants.
When you get there, you will find that Timmy has already made it 🧔inside. An unwilling subjec⛎t of scientific experiments on Site 1, the sequel’s island, Timmy is a mutant himself, and inside the cube, we see him explode into several versions of himself that are thought to be Timmy from parallel universes. We never find out from the cutscene, however, if the cube heals Timmy, or causes him momentary suffering.
7 How Did Eric Survive Outside Tꦺhe Cube? 🐬
When the cube opens, we see the corpses of the baby-slinging behemoth and the infamous character in the silver jacket, who failed to make it into the cube on time and thus suffered deadly consequences. At the end of the game, however, we see Timm💝y join his father Eric at a helicopter pad. You are then given the choice of leaving the isl🌟and with them, or staying on to try and solve the mystery of the Pufftons.

Was the alien city an image projected onto the wall of the golden cubꦚe? Or was it a doorway that opened in time and space to another world? In either case, why didn’t either of them try to touch, or enter, this strange new scenery to find out?
5 Where Did The💟 Cube Come From?
Throughout the course of the game, we learn a lot of thiꦰngs about what the cube can do through secondhand knowledge passed down through notes strewn all over the island, emails between former employees and alleged spies with a hand 📖in the bidding war between Puff Corp and Sahara Therapeutics, and the books that Timmy Le Blanc wrote about parallel universes, drawn from his own experience as a live experiment.
Apart from this, we never really learn where the cube came from. Judging by its placement in an underground cave with secret passageways that appear to be dug into the ground, we are led to assume that the cube is a subterranean artifact. But then aꦏgain, as the cube is thought to trigger, as well as protect from, a deadly lunar event, it is not e🗹ntirely out of the question that it may have crashed into Earth from outer space.
4 ♎ What Is Tᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚ𒀱ᩚᩚᩚhe Cube Capable Of?
Through these findings, we find out a number of things about the ancient artifacts. The Resurrec🍨tion Obelisk can raise the dead, and the Power Obelisk can emit an EMP ꦐblast that neutralizes all technological devices, dropping a helicopter out of the sky. Next to creating flesh-based abominations, it can also cure disease.
The cube, which seems to protect people inside it from the effects of the lunar event, as well as trigger Timmy’s mutations, can also interact with parallel universes. Knowing all that, alꦗl the information seems secondary to the cube’s true purpose, which remains as of yet unknown.
3 Was It Timmy’s First Time Ins༺ide The Cube?
In addition to beating the protagonist to the cube, Timmy is seen brushing his teeth in one of the cutscenes, wandering around what looks to be a bunker. Apart from a few flashbacks to his childhood that show him being kidnapped by Doctor Matthew Cross, being experimented on, and writhing on the floor from what appears to be a mutation-triggered seizure, we know very little about Timmy’s life between then and꧃ now.
We also know that he wrote a number of scientific textboജoks on the metaphysical nature of parallel universes, suggesting that he has been doing his own research. So how did he make it from Site 1 to Site 2? And is it his first time, which also happens to be at just the right time, or did he come back long ago and decided to stay?

Having completed your fir🧸st playthrough, you find the dead, mutated corpse of Edward Puffton in the banquet hall, and run into Virginia in the forest, who grew an extra arm and leg.

As it turns out, Edward left Barbara nothing in his will, as opposed to Virginia, who got his entire estate.
