Not only does Sony expect the PS5 to outsell the PS4, it thinks it might become the best-selling console of all-time despite havi﷽n🌜g a potentially shorter life cycle.

The start of the next generation of console is approaching fast, and it feels as if gamers are learning more about the competitors with each passing day. Try to forget the fact that we still have no idea how much the consoles will cost for now, and focus on what we do know. Those things we do know include talk from people working on Sony's backend supply chain in Taiwan.

Those insiders have claimed a couple of interesting things about Sony's goals for the PS5. First of all, it expects its life cycle to be just five years. If true, that will make it the shortest life cycle in 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:PlayStation history. Its first three consoles were around for six years before being replaced, and the PS4 will be c꧅elebrating its 🀅seventh birthday by the time the PS5 arrives.

Not only that but the same source, who spoke with , claims Sony is of the belief it will shift a lot of units during that five year period. At least 120 million, to be precise. That seems like a lofty goal considering the PS🔯4 has ꧑sold 110 units during its seven-year lifespan. That goal gets even loftier when it's revealed that 120 million is the lower end of what Sony aims to sell over the next half a decade.

It believes that it can sell as many as 170 million PS5s. Not only would that make it the best-selling PlayStation ever, but it would outsell every console that there has ever been. The PS2 currently holds the record with 155 million units soldꦗ but again, the iconic console had 12 more months to achieve that number than the PS5 is predicted to have.

If all of the above really is what Sony expects from the PS5, then 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Microsoft is likely a little worried right about now. The PS4 trounced the Xbox One in sales, selling more ♑than double. If the PS5 hits even the lower end of Sony's estimate, it will likely do the same again. The closest Xbox has come to beating ꦡPlayStation in sales was when the 360 went up against the PS3, and that was more a case of PS sinking to Xbox's level rather than vice versa.
