Gamescom 2021 is underway next month but Sony won't be in attendance.

Also, just like with E3 2021, this year's Gamescom will be all-digital due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Initially, it held out with the hope of holding a physical convention but, at the beginning of May, it caved.
As spotted by , the press information list published by Gamescom doesn't mention Sony whatsoever, even with a CTRL+F. You've got Bandai Namco Entertainment, Team17, Activision, Bethesda - the works - but alas, no PlayStation.
With the way that the press release has been written, it is possible that Sony could be added to the line-up at a later date. Sony hasn't outright said anything as of yet. Nonetheless, it's probably best to keep your expectations tempered. It skipped E3 2021 and Gamescom is likely to be no different. Planned announcements are potentially being pushed back due to possible internal delays what with working under the conditions of the pandemic, but all we can do right now is speculate while we wait for further information.
