I can't ꦗthink of many reasons for a new console to exist right now.

As part of his , reliable Giant Bomb insider Jeff Grubb spilled some new details on th♍e rumored hardware upgrade. Perhaps the most noteworthy bit is that the console is real and will seemingly still release in 2024.

&qܫuot;Last I heard, (the PS5 Pro) is still coming out this year," Grubb said.

As far as the reveal is concerned, Grubb said that there "probably" would be a PlayStation State of Play, not a PlayStation Showcase, by the end of September. "I don't know if the PlayStation 5 Pro is in this State of Play, but where else would it be," Grubb conjectured.

Be Prepared To Shell Out Some Serious Dough

When discussing the 🔯potential price of the Pro model, Grubb said the following:

"I'm sticking to $600 for it."

That said, the insider did bring up two interesting ideas. The first of which is Sony potentially following Microsoft by matching . That hardware refresh will run gamers $599.99, something many were not happy with due to its lack of 🌄tangible upgrades.

On the other end, Grubb propositioned Sony pricing the console based on the idea of "What could we get away with?" In other words, what's the max someone would be willing to spend on an enhanced console. "The person that is likely to buy this thing, I think does spend $700 on it," Grubb said.
