At long last, Sony unveiled the PlayStation 5. A bold new🐓 take on the console lineage, the ninth-generation gaming machine will be a huge leap forward when compared to the jump from the ꧑PS3 to the PS4, and, to emphasize that, they've done away with the boring black box aesthetic of their current-generation system.

However, the console's new look has drawn a 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:considerable amount of cri🌟ticism from fans. Older gamers will remember 𝓀how relentlessly the PS3 was mocked, and the PS5's de♒sign has spurred a similar smattering of sarcasm. While we believe there are plenty of reasons to love it, we understand why some don't.

10 Love It: Im🉐proved Airflow 🌱

PS4 Pro

One of the worst aspects of Sony's mid-generation hardware upgrade, the PlayStation 4 Pro, was how much noise it made. Generating enough of a racket to wake the dead, these machines are just plain loud, and that's mostl🍬y due to how poor the internal airflow is.

Sony seems eager to amend this misstep by making airflow and cooling a major aspect of the PS5's design. It may be largerꦗ as aও result, but we'd rather sacrifice some space in front of our TVs than be forced to put in earplugs every time the system starts up.

9 ♓Hate I♒t: Too Large

It may seem a bit two-faced to complement Sony's commitment to cooling only to immediately criticize the system's size, but it does seem to be a major point of contention among gamers. Though we don't know the exact dimensions of the console, leaks and rumors seem to indicate that it will be168澳洲幸运5开奖网: the largest PlayStation console yet. The original PS3 model was pretty beefy, and we're really going to have to clear som✤e space if the PS5 is go🔥ing to be even larger.

8 ಞ Love It: Futur🍌istic Look

Sony💟's new console design philosophy, though controversial, feels like a breath of fresh air, especially when compared to the designs of the PlayStation 4, the Xbox One—the first model of which seriously looks like an old VCR player—and the Xbox Series X. It's guaranteed to draw the eye, and it's a welcome new variation on the aging gray-and-black-box-gathering-dust-beneath-your-TV aesthetic of Sony's previous systems. While a majority of fans seem to be on board w♎ith it... well...

7 Hate It: ...Maybe A Bit Too Futuristic 💮

Ever watch one of those old-bordering-on-ancient videos fro🅰m the early days of YouTube which would highlight in glorious 360p what the? No? Alright, it may just be me, then...

Regardless, Sony must have been taking notes back then, because the PlayStation 5 looks like one of those old "the console of the future" designs made manifest. Though it sounds cool on paper, in reality, it's a little hoaky. Don't get us wrong, we appreciate that Sony is trying something different, but we'd prefer a design that didn't look like a mock-up of something seen on The Jetsons.

6 ꦆ Love It: Black and White

In the past, Sony very rarely dabbled in visually unique or special edition console designs. While competing consoles like the Nintendo GameCube and Microsoft Xbox 360 featured multiple color schemes or inte📖rchangeable faceplates, Sony's consoles were almost always black or grey.

Though there's also apparently goi🌄ng to be an all-black edition, the PS5 introduced a dash of variety to the long-running consol✃e line. The white outer shell adds a good amount of visual flair, and it'll be much more aesthetically appealing than the ugly, generic triple-decker design of the PS4 Pro.

5 Hate It: It Looks Like A Router 🐻

By now, we've all seen the memes of the PS5 shopped into all sorts of situations. From a skyscraper in Dubai▨ to the bill of a duck and pretty much everything in between, it's safe to say that the internet has had more than enough fun with Sony's recentlyꩲ-revealed system.

Of note, however, is the common comparison to modern wi-fi routers, which, for whatever reason, have a weird, space-age look to them. Honesty, these are pretty apt, with plenty of images of a regular router wrapped in paper not looking all that dissimilar from the product S🌳ony showed off.

4 Love It: Fine Detail♍s

Since we have yet to get an up-close-and-personal peek at the actual console, we don't quite know what's what as of yet. However, it looks like both the controller and the outer shell are going to be covered in tiny, circle, triangle, cross, and sꦇquare symbols. It's a small detail about which most won't care, but little details like this can mean quite a bit to the PlayStation loyal.

3 Hate It: All-Digꦿital Edition

We understand that, though it m🐷ay still be a few♛ years off, game streaming is apparently the future. However, those fond of physical editions of games will doubtlessly fight this tooth-and-nail, and knowing that some versions of the PS5 won't support physical media at all pains us.

It's an optional, likely cheaper version of the console, but we're worried tha💮t Sony is acclimatizing us to a dystopian future where discs are no more. We're halfway there already,♛ it seems, but we aren't eager to take that plunge and give up on physical media entirely.

2 ﷺ Love It: It's A Meme Goldmine

It seems like both the PS5 and Xbox Series X were built, in part, to attract attention from people who spend most of their time making memes. Microsoft's console was📖 immediately ridiculed for looking more like a large household appliance than a video game console, and Sony was mocked for debuting a system that looked like some kind of far-future space station.

That said, we aren't complaining, and it's nice to know that the gaming community is always eager to provide a laugh or two no ༺matter the circumstances.

1 Hate It: ...It's A Meme Go𒆙ldmine

Those who take their gaming more seriously probably aren't thrille🌳d with all of the memes poking fun at the PlayStation 5, and, while we love it, we can see why some Sony diehards don't.

What's more, the PS3 was rid❀iculed and compared to a grill before it launched, and it struggled through the most difficult launch window of any Sony console. Similarly, Microsoft's Xbox One was the butt of many jokes when it debuted in 2013, and sales were sluggish for quite some time. We don't know if there's really a correlation between memes and poor sales, but all these jokes at Sony's expense could be indicative o𝐆f deeper consumer dissatisfaction.
