With the release of 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Marvel's Spider-Man 2, Insomniac added multiple new villains to their personal Spider-Verse. 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Some were handled better than others, but all were a treat to see, especially if you're a fan of the comic books. A number of the villains from the three games so far are off the table for a sequel though, most being definitively dealt with either by Kraven or Venom.

The question comes up, are there enough villains left for a sequel? The truth is there are, with dozens to spare, thanks to a stor🤡ied history in the comics Insomniac can draw on. Many of them have🐠 already been set up, so read below to see who to expect in the web-slingers future.

10 Rhino

Rhino is one of the villains Kraven is said to be hunting in Spider-Man 2, but his actual fate is uncertain. The game definitively shows Kraven killing Scorpion, and provides evidence that the same fate befell Vulture, 🙈Shocker, and Electro. No information is ever given about Rhiꦕno though. At least not canonically.

Cut co﷽ntent shows he was originally intended to also be killed off, but you have to assume if Insomniac wanted Rhino to be dead they'd have stated it in the actual events of the game. He had a stealth encounter and boss fight in the first game, with two boss fights in the second, so there's a fair chance we'll be seeing him again. Insomniac just love this big lug.

9 Swarm

Swarm is one of Spider-Man's most despicable villains because, and there's no delicate way to say this, he's an actual Nazi. He's also one of the strangest because he's made entirely out of bees. There's been no sign of Fritz von Meyer in any of the games, but that doesn't mean there isn't a chance of seeing Swarm.

When exploring the Emily-May Foundation and doing the respective EMF missions, there's a lot of focus on Dr. Young and her robotic bees. Designed to protect endangered hives, these bee drones are already partly weaponised. With the foundation destroyed and her work in ruins, it's possible Dr. Young may turn her swarm of killer robot bees to more nefarious ends.

8 Chameleon

Chameleon is a villain Peter has dealt with before in the continuity of the games, and is formally introduced in Spider-Ma🐈n 2. Half-brother to Kraven, Dmitri Smerdyakov is a different kind of villain. He uses acting techniques, reseaꦰrch, and advanced technology to steal the appearance and identity of others.

He's shown to be on the loose and has successfully evaded The Hunters. There's no shortage to the chaos he could cause in the lives of Miles and Peter, either by destroying their public reputations or wreaking havoc in their personal lives. He's not the fighter his brother is, but that doesn't mean he isn't dangerous.

7 Starling

Starling is a key character for Miles Morales in the comics, even if you haven't heard of her. She's actually his current love interest, operating as a hero and not a villain. They were at odds when they first met though, about how to be a hero, and there is a path to her being a villain in the next game.

Tiana Toomes is the granddaughter of none other than The Vulture. Given his death at the hands of Kraven, she may don one of his flight suits to carry on his legacy. Introducing her as Miles Morales' equivalent of Black Cat would add some drama to his relationship with Hailey, although they may be saving that role for Silk.

6 Carnage

The revelation that The Flame was Cletus Kasady nabbing himself a symbiote was one of the better twists in Spider-Man 2. As The Flame, he was an uncompelling side villain, existing as a vehicle for the story between Peter and Yuri. As Carnage, you're in for something completely different.

Carnage is both the symbiote he dons and who he becomes in it. Unlike other symbiotes who have motivations and can sometimes be reasoned with, Carnage is only interested in their namesake. Driven to slaughter, Carnage is one of the deadliest threats in Marvel. Cletus absconding with a symbiote means we're basically guaranteed to see Carnage in the future, whether in the sequel or as part of DLC.

5 Kingpin

Kingpin was notable for his absence in Spider-Man 2. He opened the show in the first game, and was part of one of the main side quests in 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Spider-Man: Miles Morales. We know he's still running much of the crime in New York from his cell in The Raft, but there was no mention of him this time around.

There's every chance he could return in a sequel, and it would be worth seeing how Miles handles a villain who makes a mockery of the justice system. For the same reason, he could serve as a great antagonist for 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Mary Jane, voiced by Laura Bailey.꧂ Kingpin was voiced by her husband and fellow Critical Role member, Travis Willingham, so this would let them really chew the sc♑enery together.

4 Jackal

The end credits reveal for Spider-Man 2 is that the man Rio Morales is dating is called Arthur Moon, and that he has a daughter named Cindy Moon. This is a reveal that has zero significance unless you 𒅌know Cindy Moon is the reꦅal name of Silk, who gained her powers by being bitten by the same spider as Peter Parker.

It looks as though they're introducing Cindy as a character for Miles, not Peter, to interact with. We didn't see much opportunity for the spider that bit him to sink its fangs into someone else, so how might she gain spider powers otherwise?

The answer is The Jackal, as perfect an example of the cackling mad scientist there's ever been. Known specifically for his focus on cloning Peter and the people in his life, Insomniac may have decided to use him as a vehicle for Silk in their games. He could also be responsible for the creation of other villains.

3 Electro

Electro is dead, having been kill🍷ed by Kraven, so how could he possibly return? Well, it often happens in the comics that a villainous mantle is taken up by a new person.🃏 So while Maxwell Dillon is dead, Electro could still return. The most likely candidate is Francine Frye.

In the comics Francine Frye was an accomplice of Maxwells, accidentally getting electrocuted to death when his powers were on the fritz. Her body was later recovered by The Jackal, who used it to create a clone. She gained electricity powers of her own, so it's possible she could carry on the Electro legacy in Spider-Man 3 and hint at a larger plot in the process.

2 ꧅ Doct꧅or Octopus

Otto Octavius was the main villain of the first game, a good man who lost his way. He was emotionally compelling and a serious threat, more for his incredible intellect than his mechanical ten🦋tacles. His return in Spider-Man 3 is all but guaranteed, especially since he was shown in his cell in Spider-Man 2.

He claims to be writing "the final chapter" in his journal, which may reference a comic storyline of the same name. Whether Insomniac adapts The Final Chapter or not, he's assured to be part of the future of the series.

1 Norman Osborn - The Green Goblin ♓

It's all building towards The Green Goblin, and that's something to be excited about. We've been watching Norman Osborn become increasingly desperate as the series has progressed. His mayoral position falls apart thanks to Mr. Negative and Doctor Octopus releasing Devil's Breath in the first game. In Spider-Man 2 we see him willing to go to any lengths to save his son, whether it's using aliens of unknown origin or experimental serums.

The Green Goblin is usually considered Peter Parker's top villain, competing for that accolade with Doc Ock. The series just wouldn't be complete without him maniacally gliding through the city, chucking pumpkin bombs, and throwing people off bridges.
