Although one of the biggest selling points of Spider-Man 2 is that it lets you play as both Peter and Miles, swapping between them at will while they swing around doing whatever a spider can, there's also a big surprise waiting for fans in the form of a secret playable character. As many of you likely know by now, , who players get to play and wreak havoc as for a brief segment towards the end of the game. Although that segment ends far too quickly considering how much fun it is to basically play a mod𓆏ern version of Hulk: Ultimate Destruction, players have already figured out a way to get Venom out of bounds.
, players can get Venom out of bounds by having him clamber up the environment when he breaks out of Oscorp and finds himself fighting hunters in New York City. By escaping the limits of his restricted level, Venom can then be taken on a tour of the map, which reveals that he's got a surprising amount of depth to his mechanics, including being able to take fall damage.
Being able to play as Venom isn't the only discovery that players have made by getting out of bounds in Spider-Man 2, as they've also found out the potentially grim fate of Rhino by using some other map-breaking techniques.
Perhaps the best discovery that's been made with Venom so far is that, , by taking him to the Wakandan Embassy, he can perform the Wakandan Salute that acts as an easter egg and tribute to𒈔 Chadwick Boseman. This is especially funny considering Peter Parker is currently the only playable character in Spider-Man 2 who can't take part in the easter egg, despite Venom only being controllable for about 15 minutes.
hasn't yet confirmed why Peter isn't able to do the Wakandan Salute while Miles and Venom can, but it seems likely that Venom's ability to do so is simply a glitch and not a purposeful inclusion. Still, even if it's not meant to be happening, you have to admit that Venom looks pretty slick doing the salute.
As great as it is to break Spider-Man 2 and put Venom in places he's not supposed to be, it might not be long until we actually get to explore New York as the Symbiote, as Insomniac Games has confirmed that it's considering a Venom spin-off game.
