In response to today's news that the face model for Peter Parker has been replaced, fans took no time taking to Twitter to express their disappointment. The news came as a part of a post on the PlayStation blog detailing the upcoming 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Marvel's Spider-Man Remaster.
To better match voice actor Yuri Lowenthal's performance and facial capture, developer Insomniac Games made the decision to recast the face of Peter Parker to Ben Jordan. No other reason was given as to𓂃 why John Bubniak was passed over and so far, the decision has bಌeen met with lots of negative feedback.
#BringBackBubniak quickly saw a rise on Twitter as people flooded the site to express their disappointment. Many said they were wary of the new face model because he lacked the maturity that Bubniak's version brought to an older Peter Parker. From stills seen so far, he even looks younger than 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Miles Morales who he is meant to be mentoring. Others thought Insomniac might 🌳be going for a look more akin to Marvel Cinematic Universe star, Tom Holland. And while a variety of opinions are circling social media, many people are saying the change is upsetting mostly because of how emotionally connected they were to the original character model.
During the release of Marv🌞el's Spider-Man back in 2018, Peter Parker's model got its fair share of criticism as well. People thought his face was too blocky and and a bit awkward looking, but fans learned to love it and became emotionally connected to it. Maybe the same thing could happen with Ben Jordan's model, but it will be difficult to separate the two when players have such a connection with the PS4 version.
Insomniac has been on damage control ever since the announcement, replying to tweet after tweet that the change was necessary to better fit Yuri Lowenthal's facial capture when using next-gen technology. And with the release of the remaster and 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Spider-Man: Miles Morales only a little more than a month away, it's very unlikely another change will take place, especially with how critical audie🤡nces are over crunch culture in the video game industry.
Creative Director at Insomniac, Bryan Intihar, responded to the situation saying he understands the criticism coming from fans, but that the change was a necessity moving forward. He went on to say that the decision wasn't taken l𝕴ightly and that it was best for the franchise and their goals for the future.
Marvel's Spider-Man Remaster will come bundled with Spider-Man: Miles Morales Ultimate Edition which will hit the PlayStat🎐ion 5 on November 12.
