168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Spider-Man Remastered is 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:finally available à la carte on PS5 for the first time. And whꦇile that’s great, celebrating Sony’s decision to set the game free shouldn’🉐t overshadow how truly bizarre its choice to do otherwise was in the first place.

In case you missed it at the time, Spider-Man Remastered first launched back in 2020. The game offered an update of the 2018 PS4 game for next-gen consoles, with a 60 fps performance mode, improved models, ray-tracing, the more robust photo mode Insomniac implemented for Miles Morales, and more. Obviously, the way Sony and 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Microsoft handle next-gen remasters is one of the big things that has set the companies apart in the PS5 and 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Xbox Series X|Sꦬ era. Mཧicrosoft gave the best version of the game away for free, while Sony typically charged you to upgrade your PS4 copy on PS5.

In this case, though, Sony did something much stranger, opting instead to make Spider-Man Remastered exclusively available as part of a bundle with 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Spider-Man: Miles Morales🍌. Think about that: a full remaster, which majorly altered the game, including swapping out Peter Parker’s face in every scene of the game and adding a bunch of quality-of-life improvements, was only available if you were willing to buy a deluxe edition of another game.

And, weirder still, buying the base version of Miles Morales locked you out of getting Spider-Man Remastered later on. I checked to see if this was still the case today and when I tried to view the Ultimate Edition, I got a pop-up alerting me that, “You can’t buy this product for the following reasons: - You already own the following products, which conflict with the product you’re trying to bu♈y: Spider-Man: Miles Morales.”

So, by exclusively bundling Spider-Man Remastered with Spider-Man: Miles Morales, Sony made it impossible for PS5 players to give them money for the game later. To put it in the game’s terms, Sony offered us a quick time event, many players failed, and now they're locked out of finishing the game. Because I bought a cheaper version of Miles Morales at launch, I was denied access to Spider-Man Remastered indefinitely.

It isn’t all that odd for companies to deny players the option to buy their games outside of a certain window. But, at least when Nintendo does it - like when it 1𒐪68澳洲幸运5开奖网:took🍰 Super Mario 3D All-Stars off digital shelves - the company has the common courtesy to be blatantly anti-consumer. In Sony’s case, I’m just gobs🌜macked that 𒉰it made it possible to lock yourself out of simply buying a game.

It's especially weird that Spider-Man Remastered hasn't been available standalone on PS5 because it launched as a standalone release on PC last August, months before Miles Morales was even on PC. Typically, Sony's PC releases follow years after their console counterparts, but in this case, the solo SKU hit PC nearly a year ahead of PS5.

Now that Spider-Man Remastered has hit th🦄e PlayStation store, our long nightmare is finally over. But why did Sony dream this up in the first place?
