In a recent interview with , Final Fantasy 14’s director and producer Naoki Yoshida touched on the discussions hꦯappening with Microsoft to bring the popular title to Xbox. He shared that the talks are going in a positive direction, and he hopes it will happen sooner ra⭕ther than later.
"I feel bad for saying the same thing every time, but we are still in discussions with Microsoft, and I feel like our discussions are going in a positive-like tone," said Yoshida. "I don't want to say we do not have an Xbox version, but I'm hoping that the timing will be ve🐻♔ry soon that I will have some kind of update to the players. I'm sure there's a lot of things that people want to ask about on this subject, and there's a lot of things I want to share, but I'm afraid I'm unable to divulge on those details, so when the time comes... I'm sure the time will come, so if you could kindly stand by, that'd be great."
It sounds like timing is the biggest obstacle standing in the way of getting the game on Xbox consoles. In fact, earlier this year Yoshida spoke to and briefly mentioned that there wasn’t⛎ necessarily any obstacle in the way of porting the game to Microsoft consoles. The only issue in making the port happen was getting the time to do it properly.
It makes sense that timing would be an issue considering how big of a year it has been for Final Fantasy 14 and Xbox.
