Six members of the Squid Game cast gave the show's Dalgona challenge a try. Turns out it's just as difficult as it seems.
Squid Game has been the surprise hit of 2021, and if you still haven't seen it then you might well be the only one by this point. Netflix revealed last month that 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:111 million households had watched 🍸Squid Game during its first 28 days, making it the biggest launch in the platform's history.
The show focuses around 456 people competing in childhood games for a massive cash prize. The only catch is i🔴f they fail in those games, they die. Round two tasks the players with something called the Dalgona challenge. To win, they must carve a pre-determined shape out of a circular piece of honeycomb using a sewing needle.
A tall order, especially when one of the shapes is an umbrella. Netflix recently interviewed six of Squid Game's cast, giving them some honeycomb and a needle to see if they could complete the Dalgona challenge for real. The shape they needed to successfully remove from the honeycomb was the iconic Netflix N, naturally. They were also given a lighter and a spray bottle of water to help them achieve their goal.
Turns out the Dalgona challenge is pretty difficult, as none of the six manage to successfully remove the N. Lee Yoo-mi, who plays Ji-yeong in the show, seems to come the closest, successfully remo𒆙ving one of the triangles from the N after getting rid of the border. She is told by those interviewing her that no one else made it that far. Lee and Jung Hoyeon, who plays Kang Sae-byeok, aꦬre told to look at the camera more as both become a little too invested with removing the N from their honeycomb.
Of the six stars being interviewed, five of them successfully complete the Dalgona challenge in the show and progress to the next round. The sixth, Wi Ha-Joon, plays a detective named Hwang Jun-ho who doesn't actually compete in the games. He was probably on set though as those interviewed reveal there was such a good atmosphere on the show that actors who weren't needed for scenes would still show up to be with the rest of the cast and crew.
