Like most RPGs, 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Star Ocean: The Divine Force has a bevy of gameplay systems, most of which ultimately revolve around leveling up your characters and gaining spiffy new special abilities. And, as is most common among its predecessors, contemporaries, and doubtless its future brethren, you'll do so through the combination of experience points for leveling, and a separate point-based structure for abilities.

Naturally, this fairly obvious and commonplace methodology has always led to one inescapable query: how best to power up your role-playing personnel? What are some overarching tips on best leveling practices, so you're not wasting time taking the slower route? Here are our findings, fellow RPG fans.

Battle Bonuses And Balanced Approaches

Star Ocean Divine Force Raymond Larcette Region

There are numerous ways to initiate combat with enemies on the fie⛦ld. Ordered from least to most desirable, you can:

  • Meander ahead until they spot you;
  • Get the jump on them with surprise attacks;
  • Initiate a surprise attack and blindside

Getting spotted means you've lost the element of surprise. An obvious observation, but an important distinction nonetheless — surprise attacks award extra experience points. Technically speaking, you can still make up for it somewhat by performing a blindside en route to the foes that already know you're coming, but that's identical to executing blindsides throughout a battle that has already erupted. It's never a bad idea, and it will give you some small bonuses that build up to something bigger. But you've sacrificed that initial experience boost you would have gained from a surprise attack.

If you're new enough to Star Ocean: The Divine Force not to know what this talk of 'blindsiding' even means, here's what's up. Whenever you press the DUMA button (R1 on PlayStation; Right Bumper on Xbox; varies per user configuration on PC), the character you presently control will dash forward rapidly, tapping into DUMA's swiftness.

A straight line to the enemy works just fine, but swerving at the last second will bewilder them, leaving them open to extra damage when you finish your strike. It can be a little tricky to get down at first, but it's integral to leveling and gaining SP quickly.

Learning to ambush, rather than be ambushed, helps a ton. But we'll go a stage further with this and suggest you learn the lay of the land. In every 'open region' of the planet Aster 4, many groups of enemies can be spotted. The value of them, with regard to experience gain, can vary considerably.

Finding clusters of foes that are worth more experience points than others and happen to be close to a particular exit can be highly beneficial in the long run. Simply put, while you won't often find enemies especially close to any given exit, you will at times discover quickly-respawning creatures that are ﷽worth running in and out of zones to fight♕ again.

Without getting into spoilers, an example of this can be found on the Edahli Region's entrance into the Den'mohr Delve. Head into the Delve, then head back out. Those nasties waiting for you on the snowy side are a good source of fast experience from levels 16 to 25 or so.

The Determined Princess Skill

Star Ocean Divine Force Determined Princess 1

In the long run, Laeticia's equippable skill, 'Determined Princess', can net you millions of extra experience points. We're not kidding. What makes this thing so cool? At the cost of lowering certain stats whenever it's equipped, Laeticia allows the party to gain more experience from every battle. It is, frankly, superb.

But what about those stat reductions? That's no joke, to be sure, but just how bad can it be? While it's true that, the higher you raise this skill's own level, the heavier the penalty will be, as will the gobs of experience you soak up along the way. The solution, then, depends on how much trouble you're having at any given time.

If you're finding fights challenging enough while taking advantage of 'Determined Princess' to visibly suffer, take control of Laeticia yourself (if you aren't already doing so) to help her out. The AI in Star Ocean: The Divine Force is fine, but not necessarily built to handle advanced l﷽eveling practices, if you catch🅠 our drift.

Consider that, by Level Six, 'Determined Princess' boosts party member experience gain by a terrific 171 percent, but at an ugly 78 percent reduction in both Defense and Guts stats. Maybe this gets to be too big an issue for you. If so...

Earth Difficulty

We get it. There's nothing glamorous about resorting to lowering the difficulty of a video game in order to excel at it. Still, many players need to do precisely that, and there's zero shame in it. Besides, we're not necessarily suggesting that you do so for the entirety of your Star Ocean: The Divine Force playthrough (unless you want to!), but rather, to hasten the leveling process and reduce the potentially tough aftereffects of Laeticia's rad skill.

When playing on Earth difficulty, enemies are weak enough to shave off dozens of minutes and more from your grinding sessions throughout the game. You're not looking for a hard time with what essentially amounts to this JRPG's random encounters, are you? You can switch between difficulty settings at any given time. Simply pu💎mp the brakes to Earth, gain a few levels, and then return to Galaxy or Universe afterward. No sweat.

Gaining SP

Star Ocean Divine Force SP Tutorial

You may have noticed that we've not specifically mentioned SP until now. That's because SP gain is primarily tied to leveling up in Star Ocean: The Divine Force. You get set amounts of it to spend as you like with each climb. There is, however, a set of consumable items to be on the lookout for; they're rare, and conventionally found in treasure chests and the like, but certain items will provide your characters with one-time SP boosts when used in the menu.

There's no reason to hold on to these en masse; use them when you've got them, and given the fast pace at which Star Ocean: The Divine Force tends to lob items at you, be sure to check your inventory from time to time just in case you've missed a new one along the way.
