Despite the game's age, both the Steam and GOG versions of Battlefront II have usable online multiplayer, meaning that you can still re-enact your favorite battles from the films in tons of maps depicting iconic locations, from the deserts of Tatooine, to the hallways and gangways of the Death Star. But which maps are the best?

10 Po🥂lis Massa - A Medical Facility In Space

A Rebel Trooper surveys a battle on Polis Massa in Star Wars Battlefront 2 (2005)

Despite only appearing briefly at the end of Revenge of the Sith,♍🃏 the medical facility found on the asteroid Polis Massa is expanded here into a full action-packed map. The numerous thin corridors lend themselves well to close-range firefights, something of a rarity in the early Battlefront games.

Another unique aspect of this map is that it is partially in space. It is possible to traverse the area outside with a vehicle, but any character (apart from droids) who ventures ou𒊎t on foot will find their health slowly draining due to being in a vacuum.

9 🌟 Felucia - A Marshland

A Super Battle Droid inspects a ruined AT-TE on Fulucia in Star Wars Battlefront 2 (2005)

Despite also only appearing briefly in Revenge of the Sith, the jungle world of Felucia is present as a full map in Battlefront II. The map features a heavy amount of dense foliage, which creates natural tunnels that funnel players towaꦆrds each other. The vegetation can be used as cover, a thick fog obscures most sightlines, while a crashed AT-TE near the center of the map helps to create the illusion of th𝕴e matches taking place being part of a larger war.

What really sets this map apart is the sound design. In Battlefront II's campaign, Felucia is described as being an "alien hellhole", and the map's soundscape helps to reinforce this description. Over the sounds of blaster fire and barked orders, loud animalistic roars can also be heard, which adds to this map's hellish atmosphere.

8 🐼 ꧟ Mygeeto - A War-Torn City

A planet that briefly appears in Revenge of the Sith, Mygeeto is another example of a minor setting in the films that ended up being transformed and expanded into something larger to fit the needs of Battlefront II. T🐎he resulting map is one of the more actioned packed maps in the game, with plenty of opportunities for long-range combat.

Notable features of this map include a large bridge lined with turrets where most of a match's conflict will take place, a large circular building that can be traversed to quickly get around the map, and the refinery that can serve as an incredibly useful command post for whoever controls it. Another noteworthy feature is that this is the only map in the game where the Jedi Ki-Adi-Mundi is a playable character.

7 𒁃 𒀰 Hoth - An Echo Base

First seen in the iconic opening of The Empire Strikes Back, Hoth will be a pleasantly nostalgic sight for fans of the Original Trilogy. While the Echo Base is featured, the majority o🌞f the actual combat on this map t💝akes place on the frozen tundra that comprises the majority of the map.

With the presence of iconic Star Wars vehicles like the AT-AT's and Snow Speeders, as well as the option to play as Luke Skywalker or Darth Vader (depending on whether you are playing as Rebels or Imperials), this map is a love letter to one of the most pivotal b🤪attles in the Galactic💮 Civil War.

6 Geonosis - Du🗹st Plains

A large, open map based on the final act of Attack of the Clones, Geonosis is one of the f🌺irst maps that the majority of players will see, as it is the location where the tutorial is set. And what a location. Geonosis is an action-packed map with plenty of opportunities for players to engage in long-range combat.

The map also gives unique bonus tools to both the Clone and Droid armies. The Droids are aided by the native Geonosians and have early access to the stationary turrets that dot the map, meanwhile the Clone army has the AT-TE, a coloss🦋al walker that offers both fire support and a spawn point for clone forces.

5 Kashyyyk - A Beac𒀰hhead

One of the more iconic maps in the game, this one is a fan favorite. Based on the beachfront assault seen in Revenge of the Sith, this map depicts🐟 a D-Day style beacꦇh invasion that offers two very different game styles depending on which side you are on.

Dark-side armies (such as the Empire or CIS), will have to advance up the beach, a𓂃ssisted by various vehicles, while the Light-side aligned forces (Clones or the Rebel Alliance) have to repel the assault, with the ai🌟d of numerous blockades, turrets, and the ever-present Wookiees.

4 𝔉 ꦚ Endor - A Bunker

A Storm Trooper checks a giant log for Rebels on Endor in Star Wars Battlefront 2 (2005)

The setting of one of the final battles in the Galactic Civil War, not to mention the second act of Return of the Jedi, this map is faithful to the film to a surprising degree. Not only do the rebel forces have the aid of Ewoks during matches played on this map, but the infamous log trap is also present and will be destroy anything that triggers it. Meanwhile, Empire players get access to Speeder Bikes and an AT-ST.

Other features on the map include various hollow giant logs which offer cover for both sides, the Ewok village, adding a lot of verticality to what would otherwise be a relatively flat map and the Death Star shield bunker which ends up acting as a command post for the Empire. Playing on this map also offers plenty of opportunities to explore what could have happened if the Empire had not won the battle, opening up lots of possibilitiꦉes for non-canonical sto𓄧ries.

3 Kamino - A Cloning Facility ಞ

A recurring locale that appears multiple times in Attack of the Clones and the Clone Wars animated ⛦show, the cloning facility on Kamino offers players multiple ways to defeat their foes. While primarily taking place outside, movement in this map is surprisingly limited, with the action confined to the walkways and platforms that stand above the roiling oceans of Ka🌳mino.

Despite this more limited mobꦇility, the map has an incredible amount of verticality, with multiple levels that afford fantastic sight-ꦐlines for snipers. Meanwhile, the thin walkways offer compelling close-range firefights; the outcomes of which are likely to decide the fate of any battle fought there.

2 Death Star ཧ- Interior

The famous Imperial superweapon from A New Hope, the interior of the Death Star makes for an exciting and varied map. The map has plenty of opportunities for both long and short-range combat, with la♉rge hangar bays, multiple thin corridors, and gantries over bottomless pits offering a wide variety of environments, as well as environmental hazards to keep players on their toes.

The map is also notable for being one of the few instances where a character can be used in both the Galactic Civil War and Clone Wars version of the map (that is, without the use of mods), with Emperor Palpatine being a usable hero for both the ওCIS and Empirไe factions.

1 Tatooine - Mos Eisley ꦑ

A Rebel Trooper enjoys the Mos Eisley Canteena in Star Wars Battlefront 2 (2005)

First appearing in A New Hope (and later having cameo appearances in several episodes of The Mandalorian), the wretched hive of scum and villainy, Mos Eisley, is one of the most iconic and evocative settings in all of Star Wars. This map lives up to that reputation and features numerous fan-favorite elements, including the cantina, and a hanger containing one of Jabba's sand skiffs.

The relatively compact size of the map means that matches are often fa♛st based, while the clusters of buildings that populate the map give players an exciting experience of urban combat that is not matched by any of the other maps in the game.
