It's been a while since Star Wars: Battlefront 2. Dice's second take on the Star Wars universe came out in 2017 and was universally panned for its lootboxes, as well as 'exploitative microtransactions' by the gaming industry, and even some outside of it. The developers eventually 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:removed many of these꧃ mic𝓀rotransactions, resulting in the game 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:actually being considered good by some. But the🅘 bad taste left by the microtransactions saga was too much for it to be overcome in any meaningful way.
It seems that Dice will not be putting its learnings into a third game in the series, and it's not solely due to its focus on the Battlefield series. Tom Henderson has provided legitimate inside information in the past, and this time he says that the developer did pitch Battlefront 3, but was ultimately shot down by EA due to licensing costs.
According to him, one past developer even said that "It got turned down because it takes 20% more sales to make the same money”. This isn't necessarily the main reason why the project could have reportedly been shot down, as Henderson mentioned that there are currently two Star Wars projects in the works at EA. The difference is that these two are narrative driven titles, rather than multiplayer.
"Since several key developeﷺrs that worked on the Battlefront series have since left the DICE studio in the past year, including the likes of Battlefront II’s creative director Dennis Bränvall, core gameplay designer Christian Johannesé, and lead hero designer Guillaume Mroz. It would indicate a Battlefront 3 is very unlikely," tweeted Henderson.
He also claims to have seen the build file for Dice's next project. As of now, it has passed "Gate 0" or the conceptual stage. This project apparently did not take away developmental time and resources from Battlefield 2042, and was made separately.
Last week, Henderson claimed that Ubisoft's marooned 168澳洲✤幸运5开奖网:Skull & Bones may finally ༒be moving forward, as it will be "entering its internal Beta "soon" - The time frame was indicated as Q1 2022." The game has been in the development doldrums ever since it was announced, but we may finally get a glimpse of it during one of next year's showcases.
