If you played Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, you’ll know it wasn’t exactly the pinnacle of humour. It had its moments, but a largely silent Cal and a general lack of gags meant most of the joking around took place aboard the Mantis. Laughs mostly fell to Greez, a typical grumpy old man type who scolds people for messing up his space, doesn’t like leaving his ship, and has the same sense of humour as my dad. Cal occasionally makes sly comments, but is mostly 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:very boring. Cere is very serious as well, which makes Merrin’s appearance on the ship a real breath of fresh air - she’s by far the funniest character, with her sharp sarcasm and willingness to scare the life out of Greez for fun, but she’s🍌 on the ship for the shortest amount of time.

Survivor is an improvement on Fallen Order in many ways, but its sense of humour has been noticeably stepped up. Cal, in particular, is way funnier, and seems unable to stop himself from making snide remarks. On several occasions, you come across Separatist droids who have no idea you’re there, and you get to eavesdrop on their conversations with each ဣother or themselves. One droid says to himself that the view is beautiful at its post, and it hopes it never has to leave… Cal agrees 🍨♑with them, but only after slicing him in half with his lightsaber.

Merrin, naturally,♈ brings humour with her as well. Her light, flirtatious ribbing of Cal is just sharp enough to be funny, but not enough to be mean, which makes her extremely endearing, especially with her perpetually deadpan expression and delivery. One of her particularly funny moments is that after getting through the Koboh Abyss, she and Cal immediately make out. Greez🃏 is screaming at the top of his lungs, seemingly in shock, and Merrin reaches over mid-kiss to smack him on the face. Greez then says, “At least none of us lost our cool.”

Greez, in general, is funnier. While he’s still very much a grumpy old man, his zingers hit more often - my favourite was before going through the Koboh abyss, when Merrin says at least they’ll all die together, and Greez says, “Great pep talk kids, hopefully th♊ey can engrave it on my tombstone.”

In Fallen Order, you 💜didn’t interact with that many people outside of the Mantis’ crew, but Survivor is full of people to make friends with. There is an old gay couple, Gulu and Gido, who hang out at Rambler’s Reach Outpost talking shit about people who live there and bitching about how things used to be better. I love them, they are so funny and so mean. Every time I dropped into Rambler’s Reach, I’d pay them a visit before heading into the cantina, just to see if they had any hot gossip for me.

But the funniest moment of all, one that made me laugh out loud and point at the screen like a toddler watching Cocomelon, was Rick the Door Technician. On Nova Garon, you will be fighting nonstop through an Imperial base. Possibly low on HP, and desperate for another meditation point to heal at, you’ll encounter a boss: Rick the Door Technician, a regular ass Stormtrooper. There is nothing special about Rick💮. You can kill him in seconds. He’s just a guy who really wanted to kill the Jedi, and he was swept aside like a doll. It’s possibly my favourite gag in a video game ever, because of how it plays against expectations, and it’s how I knew that it wasn’t just Survivor’s story that had improved, but its jokes, too.

Most people aren’t playing Star Wars Jedi: Survivor for the humour, which is probably why it’s so effective - it takes you by surprise. I thought Jedi: Survivor’s most important change would be the addition of fast travel and that it might disappoint m𒊎e the way Fallen Order did, but its story overshadowed every other im🧔provement by far. It’s a great foil to the game’s darker themes. Hopefully the next game just gets better.
