EA's official PC requirements for have gone live and they reveal that you're going to need a whopping 155GB of storage space to play it.
We're just a few short weeks away from the long-awaited release of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor and, alongside previews and ne🔜w𒁃 gameplay footage being released, EA is starting to roll out some of the system requirements for the game. While we're still waiting to find out how much storage space will be needed for the console release, EA just shared the minimum specs for PC and they are a doozy.
and you might want to get ready to pick up your jaw. The biggest sticking point is that you're going to need at least 155GB for Jedi: Survivor, which is nearly triple the amount that was needed for , which was 55GB.
Interestingly, this number from EA is actually an update from its previous estimate back in December, which suggested that you'd need 130GB for the game. What happened in those months to get an extra 25GB of content in there isn't clear, but it is worth noting that Survivor was delayed in that time and has likely had several patches to tidy it up a bit.
Although the minimum storage on PC somehow apes games like Modern Warfare 2, it's worth noting that, , the rest of the minimum specs aren't actually that taxing, at least when compared to the storage needed. Respawn's previous games have had some issues with space on PC, .
We don't currently know what the expected file size for Survivor is going to be on the PS5 and Xbox Series, but for those console players who are wiping their brow and glancing at all the games they're going to have to delete in order to make room, it's worth noting that PC games usually require a bit more space in general. For example, Fallen Order requires 48GB on PS5, compared to 55GB on PC.
There's also the fact that the PS5 uses the "Kraken" compression technology, which is meant to reduce the amount of space that games take up. There have been a few notable examples of this since the console's launch, so here's hoping that it's the case with Survivor. Now that the official PC specs are out, we'll likely be hearing about what's going to be needed from console players in the next few weeks.
