That didn't quite happen, though. In fact, he didn't even make it to the third movie, as he perished before fans really had a chance to get to know him. As such, this enigmatic creature remains a mystery to most viewers. Yet, if you pay close attention to the movies and read some of the Star Wars books, you get a clearer idea of who Snoke was and his purpose in the Star Wars universe.

Origins

One of the biggest questions surrounding Snoke has always been about his origins. After all, the creature just appeared in The Force Awakens with little explanation about where he came from, as that wouldn't be revealed until later.

It turns out he was the product of the Sith loyalists' cloning experiments on Exegol. They were attempting to create a new vessel for Darth Si✱dious at the𒆙 time.

The being that would come to be known as Snoke wasn't considered capable of containing the Emperor's 'dark essence.' Yet, Snoke's sensitivity to the force meant Sidious still saw value in the creature.

His Role In The First Order And The Sith

Snoke force powers eventually grew incredibly strong, and he became the Supreme Leader of the neo-imperialist group known as The First Order.

Yet, it wasn't just down to him, as Sidious was manipulating him from afar. The Emperor needed an army and resourc💞es to beꦍ able to contend with the New Republic; the First Order gave him those things.

Not all of Snoke's attention was on The First Order, though. In fact, General Hux was the one really leading the army. The Supreme Leader put much of his focus on training and guiding Ben Solo (aka Kylo Ren).

His influence helped guide the young man to the dark side. However, once again, he was serving as the Emperor's puppet. It was actually Sidious who got in the mind of Ben and helped transform him into Kylo Ren. Snoke was effectivel🎶y a middlem🐼an in this whole situation.

'Middleman' is the perfect overall description of Snoke, as pretty much everything he did was influenced by Sidious.

Death And Aftermath

In the end, the training of Kylo Ren would pretty much lead to the creature's downfall. He used Ren to get his hands on Rey - he even established a Force connection between the t𝔉wo.

His goal was to use her to discover Luke Skywalker's location so he could finally wipe out the Jedi.

Yet, he overestimated the control he had over Ren's mind. He thought he could get his apprentice to strike her down. In fact, in his final moment, he still though❀t Ren was about to kill the Jedi.

However, what Ren actually did was turn on the lightsaber sitting next to Snoke so that it would slice through the Supreme Lea🌳der and kill him instantly.

Overall, it was a very significant blunder on Snoke's part. Not only did he create the bo𓆏nd between Ren and Rey, but he also placed the lightsaber in a position where it could be quickly used agains🥀t him.

In the immediate aftermath of Snoke's death, Ren attempted to become the new Supreme Leader of The First Order. But after a while, he discovered the existence of Sidious, who naturally took control.

By this point, Snoke's influence in the series was pretty much over. However, as he did train Kylo Ren, he technically contributed to the downfall of Sidious. After all, Ren ജdid help Rey take the Emperor d𝔍own.
