A tapper is an item that you place on trees to extract syrups. To use a tapper, simply go up to a tree and place it. The tappౠer will stay on the tree, and a bubble will appear over it when an item is ready.

Tappers can be placed on the following trees.

Mushroom tappers work a bit differently. Rather than having a standard production time, it depends on the season and previous mushroom that was harvested.

In general, it will take five days for a mushroom tree to produce during Spring and Summer and two and a half days in Fall.

Tappers will not produce mushrooms during the Winter. The production time for a mushroom harvested after a purple mushroom will always be two and a half days. Additionally, the type of mushroom that will be produced follows a pattern. The mushroom produced will always depend on the mushroom previously produced. Below, let's take a look at a breakdown of mushroom tyꦏpes you can get.

Mushroom Type

Conditions To Obtain

Red Mushroom

Previously Harvested:

  • Purple Mushroom
  • Red Mushroom

Date of Previous Mushroom Harvest:

  • If the previous was Common, then it will need to be harvested any day in Fall, Spring, or Summer
  • If the previously harvested Mushroom was also Red, then you will get another Red Mushroom if harvested in Fall (excluding days 10 and 20)

Common Mushroom

Previously Harvested:

  • Common Mushroom
  • Red Mushroom

Date Of Previous Mushroom Harvest:

  • If the previous was Common, then it will need to be harvested any day (excluding days 10 and 20) in Fall, Spring, and Summer
  • If the previous was Red, then it will need to be harvested any day in Spring or Fall (excluding days 10 and 20)

Purple Mushroom

Previously Harvested:

  • Common Mushroom
  • Red Mushroom

Date Of Previous Mushroom Harvest:

  • Regardless of Common or Red, the previous mushroom can only be harvested on day 10 or 20 of the season.

Efficiently Using Tappers

Overall, tappers can take a long time to harvest from tappers, so we recommend setting up an area with compact trees. In general, trees can grow close together, with the exception of fruit trees, but you cannot place tappers on fruit trees.

If you want to combine tappers and fruit trees in a farm area, keep in mind that fruit trees need to have the spaces immediately around them open. If a tree starts growing too close to the fruit treꦿe it won't grow or produce fruiဣt.

We recommend adding path blocks here, preventing anything from growing.

If you have a few tappers and a portion of your farm that has yet to be cleared, try placing tappers here! Wherever you choose, it's important to remember the tappers. If you place a tapper in an obscure location, you may lose track of it and forget to check.

Additionally, don't forget that tappers can be placed outside of your farm. The bus stop is a great place to put tappers, since you will probably walk by the area every day.
