Bethesda Game Studios' Starfield and Arkane Austin's Redfall have both been delayed into the first half of 2023.
During the last Xbox and Bethesda Summer conference, Starfield was shown off properly for the first time and Redfall was revealed. Starfield was outright given a release dat💦e of November 11, while Redfall was said to release during 🌼the Summer of 2022.
Now, both titles have been delayed into the first half of 2023. Bethe🌳sda announced the news on its Twitter page, thanking fans for their support and promising that more news would be coming soon.
, "We've made the decision to delay the launches of Redfall and Starfield to the first half of 2023. The teams at Arkane Austin (Redfall) and Bethesda Game Studios (Starfield) have incredible ambitions for their games, and we want to ensure that you receive the best, most polished versions of them."
It continues, "We want to thank everyone for their excitement for Redfall and Starfield. That energy is a huge part of what inspires all of us every day and drives our own excitement for what we are creating. We can't wait to share our first deep dive into the gameplay for both Redfall and Starfield soon. Thank you for your support."
, "Here at Arkane Austin, we've decided to delay the launch of Redfall. The team needs more time to bring the game to life. Thank you so much for your continued support. Redfall is our most ambitious game yet, and we can’t wait to show it off soon".
Redfall and Starfield both seeing delays probably shouldn't come as too much of a surprise considering how little we've seen of both of them. Bethesda has mostly stuck to showing off behind the scenes concept videos for Starfield, while Arkane Austin has been completely silent on Redfall, with some playtests apparently happening in the background and subsequently getting leaked.
It's likely that we'll see the two games show up during the Xbox and Bethesda conference happening on June 13, although nothing has been confirmed so far.
