Remember when Skyrim ruled the world? At its peak, even those who wouldn't typically find themselves playing RPGs were sinking hours into the story of the Dragonborn. I really cannot overstaꦍte just how much it dominated the gaming community. And back then, the funniest joke ever ♛was quoting that NPC that said he "used to be an adventurer" like us, until he "took an arrow to the knee". It was the height of comedy.

So, it's no surprise that all of these later, Bethesda has shoved multiple "arrow to the knee" jokes into 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Starfield. Yes, this is long after the jokes were actually funny, but it's such a nostalgic callback that you can't help but smile. There's no doubt loads of other Skyrim references to be discovered, but this is the one that immediately jumps out to fans, as NPCs across the galaxy reference our favourite Whiterun guard, reminding us of a simpler time.

These jokes are being shared across the Starfield subreddit by players making the most of the early access period. And even though the game has only been playable for a few hours, they've found no shortage of easter eggs.

One of the first to be spotted is, surprise surprise, a throwaway line from a generic NPC. Just... read it yourself. It's pretty obvious what it's referring to here.

If that wasn't enough for you, another player found one that's a little more subtle. Here, there's a symbol that shows an arrow literally going through someone's knee, so you can see the horrific incident in action.

If you were sick of the jokes back in the early 2010s, then I'm afraid you're out of luck here - Bethesda is definitely having fun with them. And the devs have probably heard enough "arrow to the knee" jokes for a lifetime, so fair play to them.

Of course, these are far from the only 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Elder Scrolls references spotted by players so far. In the comments, some say that stealing will sometimes get you the famous "you've violated the law!" voice line, a throwback to the guards from Oblivion. Naturally, there have also been some sighting🃏s of references to sweet rolls, the treat that worms its way into every Bethesda release.

While it's not a reference as such, there's another aspect of older Bethesda games that's reared its head in Starfield: essential NPCs - kinda. As we found out earlier today, 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:you can't kill your parents in Starfield. This is similar to how 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Fallout 3 wouldn't let you off your dad or any other NPC deemed too important to the plot. The Starfield parents probably aren't as significant though, since you only have them with an optional trait you select at the beginning, so it's a little weird that they're exempt from any murderous rampages you embark on.
