'Go grab me some iron on this barren wasteland of a planet for a few scraps of credits, will ya?' a random NPC asks me while I wander through a science outpost I found in the middle of nowhere. 'Sure thing, pal'. I get into my ship, fly into orbit, and boot up the grav engines for this menial, mundane fetch quest... and then the 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Starfield theme blares as though I've been sent to free the Settled Systems from their oppressors and uncover the meaning of life.
You can't remove the obligatory grav jump theme without muting all the music, so if you like the rest of the score, you've got to sit through the overdramatic space leaps that get old after a few hops. Thankfully, PC players can turn to modders.
Dylan James recently uploaded the simply titled mod to the Nexus website, which "Replaces the dramatic, orchestral 'grav jump' music with silence - preventing the stacking of multiple music soundtracks and eliminating repetition". The theme will inevitably have more oomph in key story beats if you use this mod, since you won't have heard it a hundred times already.
As for why it swaps out the grav jump theme for silence rather than another track or simply by making it quieter, James says it's because "It plays on top of the background music" and "on top of the loud grav jump sounds from your ship's engines". It's either nothing or a jumbled mess, so James opted for nothing.
The mod is pretty easy to install. Download it, add it to your da🥃ta folder (manually or via a mod manager), then go to your StarfieldCustom.ini file and add the following:

Once you've done that, whenever you grav jump from solar system to solar system in Starfield, you won't hear the thundering roar of its dramatic orchestral theme. If you're on Xbox, however, there's no way to remove it right now. Unlike 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Fallout 4 and Skyrim, there's no native mod support. Granted, it's better than an 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Imagine Dragons track blaring every time you jump, but if you want rid of it, you have to disable the music entirely and play your own stuff. Maybe some olꦑd jazz to✨ get into the Fallout feel.
The grav jump isn't the only moment in Starfield that has overdramatic music, but Dylan James has addressed these other areas too. On the mod page, you'll find links to "More Subtle Level Up Sounds" and "More Subtle Quest Music", if you fancy a less pronounced adventure across the stars.
