Whenever you start playing an open-world game like 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Starfield, base building is one of the first things that come to mind. The game has over 1,000 planets and you can explore almost all of them from the beginning. Once you've found a planet you like, you can start setting up your base using an Outpost.
You get the ability to build an Outpost fro🌊m the very start, but there are a few things that can be hard to understand about the whole process. Moreover, the location of yo☂ur Outpost is quite important if you want to make the most out of it.
What Are Outposts?
Simply put, Outposts are personal areas that you can set up to make a place that you can use for various tasks including: building your own house, extracting resources, or using them as a storage space. Once you place an Outpost on a planet, you'll directly be able to land on it whenever you visit the planet again.
Moreover, a special icon appears above the solar systems and planets where you place an Outpost. This is because you only have a limited number of Outposts you can place (eight at the start, but can be increased using a Skill). If you run out of the placable Outposts, you'll have to remove one.
How To Set Up Outposts
To set up an Outpost, you first have to find a desirable planet. The planet you'd want to set up your base on can differ based on what you want to do with the base:
- If you simply want to make a home for yourself, you'd be looking for a beautiful planet that doesn't have any dangerous planetary conditions at any time of the day.
- On the other hand, if you're planning to extract some resources from an Outpost, you'd want to find a planet or a moon that has the most resources that you're looking for.
You can't build Outposts on planets with extreme conditions, but this can be fixed by upgrading the Planetary Habitation Skill.
Once you've found a suitable planet, the next step is to run around it and find a decent location for the Outpost. For example, you would want to set up an Outpost near multiple resource veins if you're planning to extract resources. You can check the resources you can extract using an Outpost when you're trying to build it.
Pull out your scanner and you'll see a button on the bottom of your screen that says "Outpost" with the number of Outposts you have available. Clicking this button will pull out the building screen, and you can move your screen around 🌼to place the Outpo♎st in a desirable location.
Once you've built the Outpost, you can use the Build View Mode to have an easier time placing the r꧙estᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚ𒀱ᩚᩚᩚ of the buildings.
How Do Outposts Work
Once you've placed on Outpost on any planet, you'll be able to see its range highlighted in yellow when you're in Scanner mode. You're allowed to place any buildings within this range, but you will have to upgrade the Outpost Engineering Skill to unlock better buildings. To start building, enter ꧑the Outpost scree😼n again and then the Build Mode.
On this screen, you'll be able to see various items divided across multiple sections. Some of these items might require a Power Source to operate, and the Power sources in turn might require Helium to operate. You'll need a bunch of resources to craft these items, and you can track them if you don't have enough available.
If you want to set up another Outpost on the same planet, you'll have to set it quite far away from the first one.
This is because the range of two Outposts isn't allowed to coincide with each other.
How To Customize Outposts
Once you've placed multiple buildings in an Outpost, it's quite easy to move them around. You simply have to get close to the structure you want to move and hold the "Quick Menu" button for a bit. This will open up a small menu where you'll be able to see the Move option. You can also set up Output Links here.
These links are used to send out resources from Extractors or small storages to larger storages or Transfer Containers. If you move a structure, all the Input and Output Links will move with it. You can also delete a Structure through the Quick Menu if you don't need it anymore.
If you want to delete one of the links between two structures, you can use the Outpost Mode through the Scanner.
Finally, if you want to completely remove an Outpost, you can get close to the main structure and long press the "Remove or Rename" button. Keep in mind that this will instantly remove every other structure placed within the Outpost's range.
