While talking to these NPCs, you'll get various dialogues that look like you're convincing them, but you'll have to enter a Persuasion screen at the end.
The Persuasion minigame can be used to lower the cost of certain items, convince an NPC to change their decision, and avoid conflict. Although, you won't get another chance if you fail, which makes it important to increase your chances of success as much as possible.
How To Persuade The Target
As you're talking to an NPC who needs to be convinced, you'll eventually land upon a dialogue where you'll find "[Persuade]" written in the beginning. Sometimes, you might also find other dialogue options like opening fire on the NPC. In most cases, violent outcomes are the worst and might even lead tꦇo you failing the quest.
The Persuasion minigame starts as soon as you click on the respective dialogue, and you'll find various lines with points beside them (+1 to +6). You'll also see a Persuasion bar at the bottom with multiple lines on it. Whenever you select an option from the dialogues, there's a chance of you succeeding.
If you succeed, the lines at the bottom will be filled out based on the number beside the dialogue you selected. On the other hand, one of your turns will reduce if you fail. If you reach zero turns, the Persuasion mechanic will fail automatically. To wi𝕴n this game, you have to fill out all the lines at the bottom before you run out of turn♔s.
It's highly recommended to save your game manually before entering a Persuasion dialogue.

On the left side of every dialogue, you'll also see a green, yellow, or red-colored bar. This determines the chances of its success, with the highest point dialogue being the least likely to succeed. Although, the success rate also depends on the target's personality apart from luck.
For example, if the target NPC doesn't have any requirement for money and the green-colored dialogue is dependent on them earning extra, it'll not succeed. If you pay attention to the personality and the dialogues, you can even make the red dialogues succeed. Moreover, you can also unlock a "[Manipulation]" dialogue after getting a Neuroamp from Ryujin Industries.
The Manipulation dialogue usually has a guaranteed chance of success, but your companion might dislike the idea of using it.
How To Increase Your Chances Of Success
As mentioned above, Persuasion is quite a risky game since you can lose a valuable client or fail the quest if you don't win it. To reduce the chances of failure, you can head over to the Social tab in the Skills menu and find the Persuasion Skill. This skill has four Ranks, and it increases the chances of success by 50 percent at the maximum le𝐆vel.
You'll have to succeed in a certain number of Persuasion minigames every time you level it up. Moreover, you can also find certain food items in the "Aids" section that slightly increase your chance of successful Persuasion. Finally, one way to guarantee vi💜ctory in this minigame ﷺis the Auto-Persuade option.
This can be found on the bottom right side while in the dialogue, and it instantly fills the Persuasion bar when you activate it. However, you'll have to win a bunch of Persuasion minigames to recharge it again after using it, so make sure you only use it when necessary.
