Each of the playable characters in 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:SteamWorld Quest: Hand Of Gilgamech has a very different approach to combat. While all five party members can shine in the right situations, some will probably see more use than o📖thers over the course of your adventure.
We've ranked each party member by their overall capabilities. If your favorite character is ranked lower than you'd like, don't worry - it's not because that character is bad or unplayable. It just means that they're more specialized and are more likely than the others to be swapped out when they aren't needed for a given area.
5 Orik
The mysterious samurai offers decent offense and support for his teammates, and 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:his many masks allow him to access a wide array of passive abilities. However, having Orik in your party is a boom-or-bust proposition; he'll either be the MVP or dead weight, without anything in between.
Orik is best used in an offense-oriented lineup, using Bushido to augment hard-hitting characters like Galleo and using his Heroic Combo Haste to let the team play more cards overall. Building up a lot of SP to unleash a powerful Cyclone Slash lets O🌠rik deal huge amounts of damage, especially against enemies൲ with a Storm weakness.
Orik has several healing abilities as well, but these are best used to augment recovery cards from other characters. Fascination can give the party Regeneration, which is always a nice bonus, but you'll need a stronger healing option to survive some of the game's boss fights.
4 Armilly
Armilly's enthusiastic, straightforward personality is perfectly reflected in her combat abilities. She excels at boosting the damage output of herself and her allies, and her combos usually consist of picking an enemy and hitting it until it falls over. Setting up with basic attacks like Heroic Strike and Hot Iron before unleashing a coup-de-grace in the form of Brave Buster or Execution is a simple, effective way to wear down foes.
While Armilly can benefit from other characters' buffs and has decent support cards like Encourage or To Victory!, she's ultimately a one-trick pony. You'll likely find her in your lineup a lot less toward the middle of the game, but once she starts getting access to the Fire damage type she'll become a key teammate again.
Armilly is at her best when her HP is low, as many of her Skills deal additional damage based on how injured she is. Know how much she can reasonably expect to take and only heal her when necessary. Copernica's Mana Barrier can give Armilly extra stayin🧸g power by giving her a damage buf🎀fer without actually restoring her HP.
3 𓆏 Tarah & Thayne
The twin thieves operate as a single entity in combat. Tarah's vicious axe blows provide plenty of Physical damage, while her timid brother Thayne casts debuffs and Arcane damage spells. The pair is capable of dealing impressive amounts of damage and making life tough for their opponents.
Tarah & Thayne might actually be higher on this list, but the sheer number of good cards they have available actually becomes something of a liability. The small size of characters' Decks means that you'll usually have to prioritize one twin's strengths over the other's, and it's easy to land in situations where Tarah & Thayne are the right characters for the job but have the wrong Deck equipped. Their comparatively low HP total can also be a problem, though their Leech Heroic Coౠmbo🔜 is usually enough to keep them healthy.
Their Skill Twin Combo is among the most efficient cards in the game, dealing moderate damage from each twin for a high combined total and Poisoning the target. It pairs well with Culling Axe, which deals extra damage when targeting an enemy affected by a status condition. This damage boost can also benefit from putting Tarah & Thayne on a team with Orik's Wind Call or Copernica's Searing Lash; the upgraded versions of these cards inflict Confusion and Burning re🎉spectively, allowing the twins to attack more effectively when their turn comes around.
2 Galleo
This gentle giant never wanted to join the quest in the first place, but you'll be glad he did. In addition to boasting some extremely high-damage attacks Galleo is the party's primary healer. He's all-but-required for most of the game's boss fights, especially on higher difficulties. No other character comes close to the frog-bot's capacity to protect and restore his friends.
Like Tarah & Thayne, Galleo has a lot of good cards available, but his more specialized role makes it easier to put together a viable build. Quick Fix is essential, as it provides decent healing and removes Poison, Bleeding, and Burning. Once you meet Archdruid Bob in the Cursed City, Galleo gets the Lunacy card, which dramatically increases both his Strength and Magic at the cost of removing his abilꦡity to re♌cover his own HP for three turns. Playing Lunacy at the right time allows Galleo to flatten enemies in a single blow or restore critically-injured teammates with little effort.
Galleo's only real disadvantage is that his Skills are generally expensive, and his Deck will often contain more of them than other characters. This can put a strain on your SP reserves - luckily, the big guy has a solution for that as well. His Fixer card gives the party 3 SP, and combined with Copernica's Arcane Detective i🔯t should be able to solve all but the most dire resource crunches.
1 Copernica
Copernica is one of the game's two starting characters, along with Armilly, and there's little reason to ever take her off the roster. Her elemental arsenal makes her the game's most versatile attacker, capable of taking down any foe with Fire, Frost, and Storm spells. Once she gets access to her more advanced Heroic Combos she becomes a one-woman army.
Copernica's already-frightful offense can be bolstered with Accessories to increase the elemental damage she deals, as well as Magic-boosting cards like Focus and Glass Cannon. Mana Barrier is a great way to build up SP while keeping the team protected, especially Cop♛ernica herself - her only real disadvantage is her painf꧑ully low HP total.
As long as you can keep Copernica healthy, she'll have a starring role in nearly every conceivable lineup. On your first playthrough, try to make sure she has at least two elements in her Deck so that you have an alternative if you run into enemies with resistances or immunities. Take care of Copernica, and she'll see you through from the very beginning of the game to the very end.
