How To Unlock The Finlay Destination Trophy/Achievement
The Finlay Destination trophy is unlocked by dying every possible way in Still Wakes the Deep. There are eight ways to die in the game. They are:
- Falling
- Drowning
- Being killed by a monster
- Exposure to gas
- Burning in a fire
- Shocked by electricity
- Touching the infected environment
- Failing quick-time events
Still Wakes the Deep will not be testing your reflexes or decision-making skills, so many of these possible deaths will be easy to avoid. You will need to force Caz into many of these hazards to earn your trophy.
How To Fall To Your Death
Falling to your death in Still Wakes the Deep is incredibly easy, and the game gives you a lot of opportunities. When in an outdoor area, there will be plenty of walkways or platforms that feature a precipitous drop-off into the North Sea below. Simply hurl yourself off the edge, and you'll be on the way to the achievement.
There's another achievement called Full Fathom Five earned from jumping into the water in five different places. Whenever you enter a new outdoor area, sacrifice yourself to the sea, a🎉nd you'll be making progress towards two ꧟trophies.
How To Drown
Drowning is very simple. The game quickly introduces areas that Caz must swim through in order to progress. Stick your head under the water, don't go up for air, and you'll have drowned in no time.
How To Be Killed By A Monster
Monster encounters represent one of the few times you'll be challenged directly by a mechanic that can harm you, so it's entirely possible you earn this death naturally.
Whenever you encounter a mutated crew member, they'll search their immediate surroundings for you. If they see you, they'll rush straight at you and take your life. Present yourself to one of these monstrosities and let it feast on you.
How To Be Killed By Gas, Fire, Electricity, and Infection
Gas, fire, electrical hazards, and infectious growth all kill you in the same way; you have to purposefully run into them and let them damage you. The Beira D is littered with these hazards after experiencing the plot's inciting incident, so you won't struggle to find opportunities to die.
How To Fail Quick Time Events
As you explore the oil rig, there will be many times the game asks you to perform quick-time events. Succeeding will have you surviving your peril, but for this trophy, you'll obviously want to fail on purpose. When asked to press a particular button, ignore the prompt, and you'll be snuffed out.
The two most common QTEs occur when slipping off a railing and being grabbed by the monstrous infection. Failing both will help you on the path to claiming your trophy.
