Stranger Of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin takes a new twist into the known realm of Cornelia, presenting Jack and the warriors of light during their journey to destroy Chaos. This adventure will take them to many places, some of them more or less simila♊r to past dungeons of other Final Fantasy games, but all of them full of hideous monsters to kill.
At the end of those dungeons, you will find different boss battles, and one of them is the Black Knight, an enemy that can prove himself to be a real nightmare in combat if you're not prepared. Here's everything you need to know to defeat him in battle.
Where To Find Black Knight?
The Black Knight appears as the boss battle of the Western Keep zone, during the "Audience With The Dark Elf" story mission. The Western Keep is separated into five subsections called Betrayal's Roost, Hall of Traitors, Crimson Ramparts, Masters' Quarter, Trove of Tears, and Demonshold. It's worth noting that this zone will be larger than the previous two, so be patient and advance at your pace through the different areas.
Once you arrive at the boss chamber, a cutscene will introduce you to this sinister knight and his steed. This fight will be divided into two phases, and each one will be pretty different, so keep close attention to the Knight's moves.
Black Knight Boss Battle Phase One
During this phase, the Black Knight will fight mounting his horse, and you must always keep him locked on, so you can avoid his jump attacks. Getting close to the knight will leave you open to his lance attacks, but a good tactic is using the Evade move to slip between the horse's legs and go to the other side, to keep attacking. That being said, the Black knight will still hit like a truck and jump around, so dodging overall in this fight is key, especially the red aura moves, which are unblockable. Once you deplete his first HP bar, a prompt will appear and that poor horse will meet🦩 his end.
Black Knight Boss Battle Phase Two
Once you triggered the mini-cutscene that kickstart this phase, the Black Knight will stand up, this time with no horse, and the second part of the fight will begin. During this phase, the knight will attack you similarly to Chaos Advent, with swift sword attacks and plunging movements that will shorten the distance between you two. He will use Aero magic to mess with your movement and pull you closer, and at some point, he will also summon Black Knight Phantoms, which will prove very dangerous if you don't take care of them as quickly as possible.
However, you will have plenty of chances to get back at him if you evade his attacks correctly, so keep moving, dodging, and hitting until his HP finally depletes, and the fight will be over.
Best Team Compositions
For this fight, you will need teammates that can provide high DPS but also be capable of surviving in battle, especially against multiple enemies in the second phase. Neon as a Swordfighter and Ash as a Pugilist 𓂃will be the best options since they can both survive in battle and inflict damage to the enemies.
For Jack, a mix between tank and mage classes should work perfectly, with some of the best exa💧mples being Knight and Black Mage. The idea is to be able to switch between the necessary🔜 survivability and elemental damage, which becomes especially useful when dealing with the Black Knight phantoms.
