Quick Links
The 1999 movie The Iron Giant may have led you to believe that this creature is, in fact, friendly. However, don't even try to get near Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin's Iron Giant with the intention of befriending it. He will simply slice you in half.
One of the main bosses you will have to face during SOPFFO is the Iron Giant, who, as the name implies, is a gigantic metallic dude. Though it is a bit of a slowpoke, it does deal a gargantuan amount of damage with its huge sword and also is able to cast attribute spells to deal massive damage. We really are running out of adjectives to let you know that this boss battle is big, so let's jump straight to the guide.
Where Is The Iron Giant Located?
You can find the Iron Giant in the final room of Ancients' Tower during the main mission Schemes of the Past.
Pre-Battle Strategy
Iron Giant is very vulnerable to everything 💖lightning-related. You can throw off its armored defenses by equipping you and your party with𝓰 lightning-imbued weapons, as well as a Job that can cast the Thundaga.
Potions are good for healing, but they do run out. As long as you have White Mage or a Red Mage in one of your battleꦐ sets, you can cast the following spells t♛o get you and your allies back on their feet:
HP Recovery Means |
Description |
---|---|
Curaga (White Mage) |
Restores major HP to one or all allies. |
Raise (White Mage) |
Revives fallen allies. |
Regenaga (White Mage / Red Mage) |
Recoveওr HP and refill your break gaugꦿe at the cost of MP. |
Best Team Composition
To charge into battle with your ideal team, you will first have to make sure you fill the gaps that your characters lack. However, if you are able to equip the Dragoon job, you will easily be able to dodge all the Iron Giant's attacks. Keep an eye out for those moments in which the Giant is not dealing blows to use the ability Jump and inflict some damage.
As for the rest of your team, bring Jed as Samurai and Neon as Red Mage. This combo will ensure that Neon inflicts a bunch of lightning damage ඣwith Je🗹d fights head-on and recovers MP for the party.

Make sure you soul shield this attack and send it back its way. If you mix Neon's thunder spells with Jed's direct blows, you'll just have to add a little counterattacking on Jack's end to make a deadly recipe.
