Master Ranks are accessed through Limit Releases, allowing you to unlock levels beyond Level 30 and obtain Level 99. While Master Rank is for those willing to take on the daunting Chaos difficulty, it offers an incentive to those on 🍸the fence who would like to playthrough the game and have more things to level up.

Master Rank Overview

Before you can start earning Master Ranks for the jobs in Stranger of Paradise, you must first meet a few prerequisites, which require you to have cleared the campaign at least once to unlock the Chaos difficulty. Furthermore, you will need to have whichever job you're trying to achieve mastery with be at least Level 30 before advancing it any further.

  • Have Chaos difficulty unlocked
    • Unlocks when clearing the game on any difficulty
  • The desired job you want to Master must be at least Level 30

With the above requirements met, you will have to start a playthrough on the Chaos difficulty and will need to clear missions to earn Limit Releases for your job. Limit Releases allow you to raise the maximum level of your job. We will go into greater 🦄detail about Limi𒁏t Releases below!

Limit Releases

As mentioned above, Limit Releases allow you to bump your job's max level up to Level 99. There are three Limit Releases per job, with each Limit Release assigning a star ranking to your class. Here's every Limit Release rank increase:

  • Default Rank: 1 > 30 (x1 Star)
  • First Limit Release: 30 > 55 (x2 Star)
  • Second Limit Release: 55 > 80 (x3 Star)
  • Third Limit Release: 80 > 99 (x4 Star)

It's essential to note that some Limit Releases are acquired by selecting specific mission levels and rewards before starting the mission. It's possible to earn multiple Limit Releases for the same class, which you can apply both at the same time and increase your job by two complete tiers. Furthermore, using a Limit Release will give you Master Points to use on your job, but we will go⛄ over that in the next section!

Master Points

Whenever you start increasing your job's level cap and start working your way through them, you will accumulate Master Points in place of Job Points, which you will toss directly into stats rather than a Skill Tree. You can dump points into anything, ranging from your HP to your Stamina to your Job Affinity and much more. This system is how you will strengthen your job from now on, but you can Reset your Master Points if you were focusi🔯ng on the wrong things or accidentally funneled everything into the incorrꦰect stat.

Another essential detail to point out is you will need to use Anima Crystals to accept missions on Chaos difficulty, so you cannot haphazardly use them to power-level jobs and earn Master Points. With that in mind, there are ways to farm Anima Crystals and earn them more frequently. One of the more popular methods is to kill the Hippogriff in the Phantoms of the Past mission, rest at the nearby Cube, and repeat until you have the desired amount.
