9 ♊ The Witcher 3 - Paperchase
Most side quests create compelling stories out of things like villages in peril or secret treasures hidden deep in a forest. But how many of them can create drama out of bureaucracy? When you meet him, his bones have been scattered across the world, so if you want to recruit him into your party you'll have to search out all of his missing bones. How often do you literally have to reassemble a party member before you're able to actually fight with them?

Since Omori is heavily inspired by Earthbound, it makes sense that its side quests would have a similarly off-the-wall feeling. One of the kookiest is the search for Hector. A lot of games have you search for someone, but Hector is literally a rock; he's the pet rock of your party member Kel, who loses him while the party climbs a ladder.
He's not at the bottom of the ladder, though. He's located in a completely different, completely optional area of the world, one that 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:many players might miss. And if you find him, a cutscene ensues where Hector.... reveals he has a wife and a child♎. The mechanics of that remain unexplained.
5 🍨 💎 South Park: The Stick of Truth - Find Jesus

4 ♉ Fable 3 - The Game
In Fable 3, "The Game" doesn't seem like such a strange quest at first glance. You're tasked by a group of mages to rescue a kidnapped princess, who's being held hostage by a dastardly baron. You need to find a magical sword, storm the baron's keep, slay him, and free the princess.
This is all pretty straightforward, except this quest actually takes place in a tabletop RPG, and though you're shrunk down to game-piece size, the mages are otherwise just regular dudes playing the game. As you progress through the quest, they'll offer humorous commentary and references to the previous games in the series, adding a hefty dose of self-awareness.
3 Fallout 3 - Vault 108 ﷽ 🔴
Though it's not really a side quest in the traditional sense, Vault 108 stands out for how it balances darkness and absurdity. As you explore 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Fallout 3's post-apocalyptic ruins of Washington, D.C, you'll come across the vault with its door ajar.
You'll soon discover that it's filled with clones of one man, Gary; they're incredibly violent, but all the clones are able to say is their name. He'll ask you to scour the world to find his family and bring them back home... or at least, to fill out his family tree. It's a sweet gesture, but it's strange that he's satisfied just by having you put some names down on a piece of paper; plus, he dies before you can collect your reward.
1 𒐪 Final Fantasy 8 - PuPu
