Since she’s easily the god that trusts you the least in Stray Gods: The Roleplaying Musical, Apollo brings Grace to Underworld in this scene, the nightclub that Persephone owns. Apollo’s Oracle has just revealed that Persephone bought Calliཧope’s apartment for her, and he’d like Grace to ask his fellow Chorus-member about it.

Finding Persephone At Underworld

apollo and grace talking about persephone at underworld stray gods the roleplaying musical

When you arrive at Underworld with Apollo, he says you'll need to split up to find Persephone, but he does more h🍸anging out by the wall waiting to chat again than actual searching.

That leaves Grace to locate Persephone by socializing with the Idols in the crowd. The big three attendees this evening are Pan, Hermes, and Eros, a god you've not met quite yet.

Ask Pan As Charming Grace, Or If You Sided With Him Earlier

When you approach Pan here, the tone depends on your decision earlier between Pan and Freddie. You can largely ask 𝐆the same que🌺stions, but the answers change nature depending on whether you chose Pan earlier.

Tell him "I need to find Persephone" when you're ready, and Pan hesitates to give her location to you.

A Charming Grace can extract the information from Pan, as well as if you sided with Pan earlier. Grace with another trait or wh💞o sided with Freddie will be unsuccessful with Pan.

Ask Hermes As Kickass Grace

You've finally got a chance to ask Hermes some questions about godhood and what's going on while you're panicking. Hermes was fond of Calliope, but can't help with more info.

Once you've had your fill of chat, select "I need to find Persephone" to discover Hermes is apprehensive to tell you. In fact, they won't.

However, a Kickass Grace can encourage them to get it together enough to offer the way to Persephone just t🌟his one time. Cha꧋rming or Clever Grace will be less successful.

Ask Eros As Clever Grace

This is your first chance to introduce yourself to Eros, the God of Sex (but it won't be your last, should you decide to skip him here).

You're able to ask Eros about his relationship to Aphrodite, which is your chance to get some early context for a scene in Act Two.

When you're finished with your line of questions, select "I need to find Persephone" to continue, only to find him hesitant.

A Clever Grace can easily get Persephone's location from Eros. A Charming or Kickass Grace will be less successful.

Confronting Persephone In "Challenging A Queen"

persephone exciting the crowd before her battle with grace at underworld stray gods

Once you've got a way to find her, you have the option to head back to Apollo once again tꦅo check in or get informatꦆion about who Persephone is.

However, you can go straight to Persephone now that you know how🅺๊ to find her as well - Apollo will still be behind you.

Either way, when you do go Talk to Persephone, she's none too happy to see you, steadfast in her vote for your execution and unimpressed with the trial.

Regardless of how you choose to approach the conversation, it'll end in song.

Song: "Challenging A Queen"

In this number, it's Grace and Persephone arguing their point about everything that's happened so far, with Persephone spending the majority of the song mocking Grace's youth and inexperience.

Your major choices here are in how you'd like to try to persuade Persephone to your side of things and answer some questions. You ca🧔n:

  • Show compassion for what she's endured because of and for her husband.
  • Intimidate Persephone into listening to you by showing her you're not scared of all her big talk.
  • Play to the crowd and give them a good show, challenging Persephone's view by including everyone in the room.

Following the confrontation, Persephone will come around - she either appreciaꦚtes your compass🦩ion, respects your braveness, or admits you put on a better and more inclusive show.

After the performance, she'll bring you and Apollo back to her office at Underworld for a chat. Here, you can ask the two Chorus members a number of questions about Calliope, her life, and what happened to her. The three of you trade information and suggest different suspects.

Choosing Between Apollo And Persephone In "Old Wounds"

However, tension between Apollo and Persephone are high, and it doesn't take long before Persephone and Apollo anger one another.

The dialogue choice that makes this happen is "Should we tell Athena?" so choose this last if you're spending time talking with the gods. After bickering between the Idols, the next song begins.

Song: "Old Wounds"

Tensions boil over between the gods in this song, and there aren't many choices for Grace to make here. You can:

  • Try to stop the fight by pleading with them that arguing isn't helping.
  • Implicate Calliope may have been up to no good behind the scenes.
  • Suggest there's something missing that would make understanding this easier.

Overall, this is where you're made to choose between siding with Apollo or Persephone for the rest of the game.

Either way, you'll have a God on your side, and the other will come back occasionally in some capacity, but your most major help comes from the God you choose here.

During the song, you're able to tell one of them to calm down, which doesn't go well, and Apollo moves to leave.

The choice you make here is concrete - you must decide to Follow Apollo to choose him as your help, or Stay with Persephone to inch onto her good side.

If you're trying to romance either Apollo or Persephone, you'll do well to choose who you're romancing when the time comes to decide - they don't take kindly to betrayals.

After you're alone with one god or the other, you'll have a chance to ask a bit about the other and what's going on, but both gods need time to plan. Regardless of who you've chosen, this scene is the end of Act One.
