Everyone keeps talking about this Korean Netflix show, Squid Game. Well, I'm going to be one of those annoying people and watch it after the hype dies down. While I've done a decent job of staying away from all trailers and spoilers, one unfortunate Yogcast steamer had the spoilers come to her. Ellery took to Twitter on Friday to reveal that her Instagram account, named 'squidgame' had been banned as a number of people had been either trying to log into it or reporting it. Ellery didn't say wheter Instagram had provided a reason for the ban; she was unable to log in despite creating her handle way before anyone had even heard of the show. So far it has only been Instagram that took such a step even though she has similar handle names for her Twitch and Instagram accounts. Before getting banned, she was also barraged with messages from fans of the show.
Her plight eventually reached a larger audience and took the number one spot on the first page of Reddit. It seems that this pressure was enough for Instagram to take notice, as her account became accessible again earlier today. "Thank you so much for all the retweets, Reddit comments and for tagging Instagram - my instagram account has just been unbanned," she . "Not sure what to do about my SquidGame name and it being reported/inundated with messages, but hopefully this won't happen again!"
