Who would have thought would make you do so much leg work? Having stripped leather straight off the backs of some street toughs to having traveled to Italy in hot pursuit of a belt buckle, you have finally done all the necessary work in acquiring a counterfeit bag for the Mad Gear Gang. Now all that is left to do is to present it to Elissa and hope she thinks it's the real deal.

Related: While this chapter is definitely on the short side, this guide will cover the area around the Mad Gear's hideout, and provide you with locations of all nearby chests as well as any notable characters that may be holding onto some desirable items. Naturally, we'll also lay out the steps to completing every step of this mission along the way. As an added bonus, we'll be covering how to locate Lily and learn her moveset.

Chapter 4-1 The Mad Gear of Metro City

Go back to your HQ, and switch the time of day to night. Now, head back to that same ladder you first talked to Elissa at. Unfortunately, Elissa never had any intention of letting you leave unscathed. You will now need to fight her as well as seven other Mad Gear Gang members.

Nearly every reward worth acquiring here simply asks you to activate Pressure Time against these foes. So, just block and punish them with a quick normal. Rinse and repeat until you have cleared the whole lot of 'em out.

Once you finish her (and her goons) off, climb the ladder and talk to Thrasher Damnd. He wants you to snoop around and investigate the tournament that is being held up by protesting. Once you are finished talking to him, talk to the other nearby Mad Gear gang members with the mission indicator above their heads. Now head back to the street by going down the ladder we climbed to get here, before we go to our HQ, we are going to grab a few SiRN chests.

Once you climb down the ladder from Damnd's rooftop, with your back facing the ladder, take a left. Under the bridge, you will find that there are two fenced-in areas where Mad Gear members are hanging out on either side of the street. One SiRN chest contains 5000 miles, the chest on the other side of the street has a stamina booster inside.

On your way back to Beat Square, you may notice that there is a ladder right around the corner from the entrance to your HQ. Climb this ladder and you will encounter Watcher: Metro City's own superhero. Challenge him to a fight, and you can get some pretty hefty EXP rewards. Watch out, though, he has the same projectile attacks that the typical Mad Gear gang member ha𝓡s but souped up considerably.

When he throws Molotov cocktails, he throws three of them, covering the entire ground. He also has the knife throw attack but he throws three of them instead of just one, and they are much quicker. If you crowd him, you will be able to get hefty counter punishes on him all day long and trigger the Pressure Time.

Behind Watcher is a SiRN chest containing a Knit Beanie. Now, climb the small ladder up here to get to the roof behind this one, and you will find another SiRN chest containing a Punch Booster.

Then, head back to the HQ and wait until day. Head down the street from the HQ and talk to the police. Now, follow the marker north, and you will find a torn up poster. Unfortunately, it is too damaged to tell you much. Next, talk to Jacob who is standing beside the torn poster. He'll tell you to go check out the bridge (the same one Leonardo hangs out on).

Now head to the northmost point of the bridge and you will find another poster—thankfully, this one is fully-intact. Read the poster and then take it down. Go back to the HQ again, sleep until night, and then return to Damnd. Once you tell him what all the hubub is about, you will complete “The Mad Gear of Metro City” mission. You will be rewarded with 3000 Zenny and 5 vials of Red Dye.

Obtaining Lily As A Master: The Spirit Guide Mission

As of this chapter, you will now be able to find "The Spirit Guide" quest in Metro City. You need to speak to Ana, she is close to Chinatown. She'll tell you that she has been robbed by someone that sounds suspiciously like one of those Canary Crate Gang members. Head over to Chinatown, and you will encounter Zimo. Talk to him and you will fight him.

Once you beat Zimo in battle, you be able to return Ana's stuff to her. Now, all you need to do is to go speak to Ana. You will be rewarded with ten Flight Tickets and 3000 Zenny. But more importantly, you will be able to travel to the Thunderfoot Tribe Village! So, hop in a plane and head over there♛. Once you arrive, you will have to fight Lily. Once you have battled her, speak to her again to become her student.

Travel to the left side of the Thunderfoot Village and you will find a SiRN ch🧔est containing a Silver Nugget. This can be sold for a healthy amount of Zenny.

Notable Avatars

There are a decent amount of notable Avatar battles we are going to cover here. However, there is a notable shift from the Avatar battles from previous chapters: gifts are starting to show up more frequently. For those not in the know, gifts allow you to improve your relationship with the different masters. If you see a gift as a potential reward, you will always want to do your best to acquire it.
