With digital distribution being a godsend for indie games, many downloadable titles end up remaining digital-only for their entire lifespan. While understandable from a marketing/cost perspective, it has created situations where some games disappear from sale once licensing agreements expire (*cough* Scott Pilgrim *cough*). Thankfully, 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Streets of Rage 4 won't fall into that category.
, Limited Run Games has announced it will be producing physical copies of the upcoming beat-em-up sequel. Specific platforms weren't announced, but it's likely that PS4, Xbo✨x One, and Switch will be getting these boxed copies. It would be cool to see a PC release, but most publishers have moved past creating boxes for the platform. With Steam sales being so cheap, there's not much reason to continue supporting it.
Still, getting a physical copy of Streets of Rage 4 is a great thing. The game looks like a throwback to the 90s andඣ that era was all about physical media. If we can get this in a Sega Genesis like box, it'd be the perfect collector's item. Maybe include digital copies of the first three titles? Just a thought.
We haven't seen that much of Streets of Rage 4 since last year. A playable demo was available at PAX East and it was pretty glorious. The flow of this entry seems more tuned to Streets of Rage 2 than 3, which is a good thing for fans. Many consider the second installment of Sega's series as the pinnacle of Genes๊is beat-em-ups. Imitating that is a solid way to ensure old fans will be 🃏happy.
The game ෴isn't entirely old-school, though. Mid-level saving has been confirmed and there are some new power-ups/meters that players can spend. It feels like a good compromise between brutal old-school design and modern sensibilities.
We still don't have a confirmation on a release date, but Streets of Rage 4 is definitely shaping up to be a worthy successor 🦋to the series. It's one of my most anticipated games of 2020 and I can't wait to play the final thing. Just give me a pipe, a bunch of thug💞s, and let me go loose. I'm ready to take back the streets.
