Despite the rivalry that exists between some PlayStation and Xbox gamers, a study showsꦚ they may have more in common ♌than they think.

The fಌolks at have surveyed gamers, and the results are🉐 quite interesting and worth a read. One thread in particular answers the age-old question; why do you play video games?

As you can see from the chart above, Xbox and PlayStation's top three reasons are identical. They play primarily for excitement, challenge, and story. Things differ on the N🐭intendo side of things as they play mainly for story followed closely by excitement and finally for design.

It makes sense that excite𒆙ment is of paramount importance for most gamers; after all, who wants to spend time playing a game that bores them? Probably accountants or IRS agents.

Another bit of the survey explಞores the roles gamers take when given the option in online gameplay.

Once again, there is harmony between the💃 Xbox and PlayStation fanbase, and this time Nintendo and PC gamers join in on the fun of attacking. A majority of PlayStation and Xbox gamers prefer to get their hands dirty rather than play supporting roles or defending. Meanwhile, it's evenly split between attacking and supporting on the Nintendo front. One thing that it seems all gamers can agree on, nobody wants to be a defender.

So what can we garner for these little tidbits? Well, as is the case with most things in the world, more things unite us than divide us. Most gamers are looking for a little excitement, to conquer challeng🐼es, and take in a good story while they're at it. In ꧑fact, despite the arbitrary lines that may divide the fanbases, the fanboys share more common ground than they might like to admit.

So, it doesn't matter where ꦺyou game or why, just that you keep gaming and keep being kind to one another. That doesn't mean that there aren't some fun facts to be found in this survey, or that we all must sit around the proverbial campfire and sing kumbaya. It does mean one thing for sure.🅘 Regardless of where you play, it's an exciting time to be a gamer. So game on.
