On the survival side of Subnautica: Below Zero's gameplay, players can thrive in the icy landscape with the right tools. Among those tools is the very fauna of Sector Zero, namely in the form of eggs — here's a small rundown of Below Zero's creature eggs ꦕand what you can get out of them.

How to Use Eggs

In order to actually use a creature egg, players will need to place them in an 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Alien Containment tank. This blueprint can be found and scanned in the bow of the Mercury II wreckage. It'll take five glass and two titanium 🙈to craft, and you'll have to build a Hatch to actually access it (which takes one quartz and titanium to mak🍷e).

Once placed inside the aquarium, an egg will hatch after some time has passed in-game. The length of time depends on the creature, and these creatures can provide a variety of benefits. All of them can be scanned for data (especially if a fish is naturally hostile) or used as biofuel. Some can be used to farm resources, and some can♒ ev🍃en be used as pets.

Arctic Ray

  • Location: Arctic Rays can be found throughout numerous biomes in the game. However, their eggs can only be found in the Sparse Arctic, the general starting area.
  • Time To Hatch: 1 day
  • Uses: The fish do not provide any byproducts and are inedible, though they can be used as biofuel, producing up to 420 energy. The egg itself produces roughly 189 energy.

Brinewing

  • Location: Brinewings can generally be found anywhere they can safely hunt, under icebergs. Normally, this places them in the Sparse Arctic and nearby biomes, where they can attack Robin with their icy saline solution (it will not hurt players, but leave them immobilized and at risk for oxygen depletion). Likewise, their eggs can also be found in these areas, usually stuck to the underside of said icebergs.
  • Time To Hatch: 1 day.
  • Uses: Brinewings cannot be eaten, nor do they produce byproducts. Hatching them mainly provides a safe environment to scan them without getting frozen. They can also be used for biofuel, with eggs producing 105 energy, and the fish produce 280.

  • Location: This 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:hostile fish can be found anywhere from the Twisty Bridges, Lilypad Islands, Thermal Spires, and beyond. However, their eggs are primarily located in the caves of the Twisty Bridges.
  • Time to Hatch: 1.5 days
  • Uses: Hatching a Brute Shark egg can provide a safe environment to scan them. Outside of this, however, their next use is biofuel. Their eggs provide 231 energy, and the sharks provide 630.

Crashfish

  • Location: The Crashfish and its beloved Sulfur Plant can be found in almost every underwater biome of Sector Zero, though they're quite particular to the Kelp Forests and their caves. Their eggs have a chance of spawning in any of these plants, after said fish has exploded.
  • Time to Hatch: 1 day
  • Uses: Hatching Crashfish, like the first Subnautica, can provide players with their own supply of Crystalline Sulfur. Outside of this, they can be used as biofuel for 560 energy, with their eggs producing 189.

Cryptosuchus

  • Location: Cryptosuchus can mainly be found in the Purple Vents and Thermal Spires biomes. Their eggs, however, can be found only in the latter region, inside its cave systems.
  • Time to Hatch: 2 days
  • Uses: Hatching a Cryptosuchus can allow players to safely scan them. Outside of this, the eggs produce 259 biofuel energy, and the fish itself gives 700.

Glow Whale

  • Location: The Glow Whale is the only 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Leviathan of Below Zero to have an egg. It's also the only Leviathan to have an egg that can hatch in containment. These gentle giants can be found in the East Arctic and Lilypad Islands, and their eggs can be found in the latter biome's caves.
  • Time to Hatch: 2 days
  • Uses: These Leviathans and their eggs have no major purpose outside of biofuel. Said eggs can produce 280 energy, and the whales, 840.

Eye Jelly

  • Location: These electric, myopic jellyfish can be found in the westernmost biomes of Sector Zero: the West Arctic, Glacial Bay, and Glacial Connection. Their eggs can also be found in the Glacial Connection.
  • Time to Hatch: 1 day
  • Uses: Their eggs can be used as biofuel to produce 119 energy. The fish themselves can make 630 energy.

Lily Paddler

  • Location: As the name suggests, these fish can mainly be found in the Lilypad Islands, as can their eggs — specifically in the Crevice.
  • Time to Hatch: 1 day
  • Uses: Hatching them can allow players to safely scan this fauna, without risk of being hypnotized, disoriented, and drowning. Of course, there is always the option to use them for biofuel. Unhatched eggs will produce 231 energy, while the actual Paddlers give 560 energy.

Pengwing

  • Location: These birds can be found in every biome that has a surface to it, be it icebergs or solid land. Said eggs, however, are only found in three biomes: the Kelp Forests, and the East and West Arctic.
  • Time to Hatch: 1 day
  • Uses: Outside of their adorable appearance, they have no major use outside biofuel. Eggs provide 119 energy, grown Pengwings provide 560, and even Penglings can give 210 energy.
