Subnautica is a fascinating survival game, based a⭕lmost completely underwater, and set on an alien world. In order to survive these unknown depths, players will have to amass a variety of natural and fabricated resources scattered throughout the map.
Some of these resources are far more useful than others, whether for making advanced items or exploring the more dangerous regions of the world. But as is usually the case with extremely useful items, they're also extremely well-hidden. 🌺And so, here's a small guide on some of these items, and where to find them.
Creature Decoy
This fabricated item is one that's often overlooked by players. As the name suggests, the Creature Decoy is a deployable object - by hand or vehicles - that acts as a brief distraction to any hostile fauna, and the waters of 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:planet 4546b are brimming with plenty of deadly creatures.
It's easy to understand why players so often miss this item - its blueprints aren't immediately available in the databank, and they're only found in two places; the Underwater Islands wreck, and Lifepod 4. The former lays in an easily missed, optional biome (slightly west to the Mountains), while the latter, though next to the Aurora, is surrounded by tons of dangerous creatures, from Sand Sharks to Stalkers, and even a Reaper Leviathan. But this small decoy can be the difference between a 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:damaged or destroyed vehicle, a dead player, and escape. It's definitely w🅘orth adding to any players' roster.
Reinforced Dive Suit
The Reinforced Dive Suit, put simply, offers players increased protection from creature attacks, and 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:deadly temperatures. These protective boosts, though small, can be extre𝓀mely useful when exploring late-game, deeper biomes. Like the Decoy, players will have to actively find its blueprints, which will be located in three wrecks around the map: the Dunes, Sparse Reef, and Bulb Zone, respectively.
The Dunes wreck is best avoided, as the entire biome is littered with Reaper Leviathans. The Bulb Zo⛄ne is somewhat better to explore, though it has Amp Eels and Sand Sharks. The Sparse Reef holds no overtly hostile fauna and is the shallowest region of the three, for those wanting the easiest and/or fastest route to this suit.
Prawn Suit Propulsion Cannon
This upgrade w𝕴ill replace one of the Prawn Suit's arms with a more powerful version of said Propulsion Cannon, able to lift objects the regular version cannot. This is extremely valuable in the game's deeper biomes. But, much like the standard cannon, players will have to find the blueprints for this upgrade.
Said blueprints will be scattered about three wrecks: the Mountains, the Underwater Islands, and the Sparse Reef. The former two regions are located next to each other in the northern part of the map but are filled with many hostile creatures. The latter region is located in the southwest part, nestled between the Grand Reef and Dunes, though it, fortunate༒ly, 🔴lacks any hostile fauna of its own. Whichever area players scout, this upgrade is a must find.
Repulsion Cannon
This item is an optional upgrade to the handheld Propulsion Cannon, and i🅷ts blueprints are located in various places around the map: the Aurora, Lif♊epod 12 (in the Bulb Zone), the Grand Reef wreckage, and the Underwater Islands wreckage.
Ironically, the Aurora is the safest area to explore. Barring the Reaper Leviathan patrolling outside, there are no real da𓄧ngers inside the ship. Bu🍷t its blueprints are also specifically located near the ship's black box, meaning players will need to bring a laser cutter and repair tool to access the upgrade. But unlike the regular Propulsion Cannon, the Repulsion Cannon has no weight limit, so it can send any leviathan flying. And that's truly a sight to see.
Stasis Rifle
The Stasis Rifle is an extremely useful tool for dealing with hostile creatures. This gun will freeze any fauna caught in its radius for 6 to 30 seconds. Tꦺhis can allow players to escape from pursuing predators, or, for the bolder survivors, to get in a few good hits with their knives.
Now, as with many advanced tools, survivors will have to locate and scan two fragments to unlock its blueprints. Fortunately, this item has plenty of fragments ꦑaround, locatedও in numerous wrecks around the map. Some of the earliest and safest wrecks are in the Safe Shallows and Kelp Forest, though there are also fragments in the Degasi Bases, Bulb Zone, and Underwater Islands wrecks. Whether used for fight or for flight, this tool is a necessity for any hardened player.
Crystalline Sulfur
Crystalline Sulfur is located🍒 in the deepest biomes of Subnautica: the Lost River, Inactive Lava Zone, and Lava Lakes. The lattermost regions are full of hostile creatures, lethal heats, 🃏and crushing depths. Only a fully upgraded Prawn Suit and/or Cyclops can safely navigate these areas. And it's extremely ill-advised to try and collect crystals by hand, as the creatures or heat can quickly kill players.
The Lost River is slightly better for sulfur hunting. Though brimming with dangerous fauna, it's nowhere near as deep or hot as the former regions. The crystals also tend to coagulate in the brine pools of the River, which most creatures tend to avoid. The only downsidꦿe is that said brine will cause damage if players are directly touched, but that's nothing a Prawn Suit can't handle. Given that these crystals are important for numerous vehicle upgrades and plot-relevant devices, they're an absolute necessity to collect.
Nickel Ore
This little metal helps craft many advanced upgrades, resources, and vehicles and it's also another 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:rare material, only located within the Lost 🍰River and Inactive Lava Zone. So, an already somewhat-upgraded Prawn Suit or C🌜yclops would be best for amassing major amounts of this metal.
The ಞsame risks apply to finding it: for the Lost River, players will have to scour the brine pools for it, an🥀d the Lava Zone has deadly heats, hostile fauna, and camouflaged outcroppings to contend with. But whether players want to simply explore more of the world or complete the plot, this is a must-have resource.
Kyanite
Kyanite's another extremely rare resource. It's located in the two deepest biomes of the world: the Inactive Lava Zone and Lava Lakes. Fortunately, these blue gemstones standout among the hellish glow of these regions, either individually or in 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:giant crystal formations.
Unfortunately, players will have to endure lethal heats, crushing depths, and the usual hostile creatures, in🤡 order to amass any amount of the crystals. And they'll need a hefty collection, as Kyanite is 🔯needed for many valuable, advanced blueprints. From the highest of vehicular upgrades to several plot-relevant items and machines, this gem is an absolute must for any experienced survivor.
Ion Cubes
Small spoilers, 🐠but humans weren't the first intelligent life on planet 4546b. An alien race, the Architects, were there eons ago, and though now gone, they left behind many artifacts and resources on the planet. One such resource is the Ion Cube, a green, almost-crystalline piece of tech, that acts as an energy source to many of the ancient alien facilities around the ma🐽p.
Most locations do contain cubes scattered about, but there are only 26 free-standing cubes on the map, w♉ithout the Prawn Suit's drill, or without finding the deepest alien base. There are innumerable uses for these tiny cubes, from personal survival to plot-driven creations. So players best choose carefully what they craft, once they've found a cube.
Sea Crown Seed
This seed is the harvestable byproduct of the Sea Crown, the third rarest flora in the game, and the Cove Tree and Fern Palms. If players are lucky, they might find one of thesꦜeꦡ plants growing in a Grassy Plateau cave. But more commonly (though still extremely rare), players will have to scour the Bulb Zone or Dunes for one of these plants.
So, what makes this seed so special? Well, it serves only one purpose; to make an extremely important hatching enzyme, one that's impertinent to the plot. So best bring a knife, and be prepared to scour the dep𒅌ths. This plant is a survivor's last hope.
