Rocksteady's 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Suicide Sqไuad: Kill the Justice League is a few years away, but the cinematic trailer has already built up hype for anyone itching to wail on the goody-two-shoes Justice League members. The trailer showcases our core team of Harley Quinn, Deadshot, King Sha🤡rk, and the star of the game Captain Boomerang. The loudmouth Aussie will be overlooked because of his goofy appearance, which everyone in-universe and real life is well aware of, but he is a formidable opponent. Many fans may not be too familiar with Captain Boomer🌜ang, so here is a small guide to get you up to speed with the rogue.
Captain Boomerang's Silver Age Origins
With anything superhero comics-related, there are numerou🅠s stories, events, retcons, and multiverse clashes, so we will try to boil down the character as simply as possible. Captain Boomerang, aka George "Digger" Harkness, was created during the Silver Age Flash comi꧒cs, as an addition to The Flash's rogues gallery.
Captain Boomerang was initially introduced in The Flash volume 1 is🍨sue 117. George Harkness grew 🤪up in poverty in Korumburra, Australia, with his mother, Betty, and stepfather Ian Harkness. George eventually discovers he has a talent for using boomerangs and uses it to mess with people.
In his late teenage years, George becomes a petty criminal, robbing stores, and using his trusty boomerang. While George is proud of his newfound talents, his stepfather was🍌 furious and kicked him out of the house. Betty Harkness reveals to George that he is the illegitimate son of Willard W🍒iggins, an American toymaker, and gives her son a ticket to Central City to meet his birth father.
As plot would have it, Willard Wiggins was looking to promote his new line of toy boomerangs and needed a spokesperson to seal the deal. George lands the job, Wiggins' company provides George with a new costume to promote the toy and give George the title of Captain Boomerang. While George helps the toy successfully, George quickly uses his new funding to rob jewelry stores. Eventually, the Flash catches up to Digger, but Digger showcases his most overlooked skill; Charisma. Digger successfully lies to the Flash that people impersonate him, hires people to impersonate his parents, and sell the idea he is innocent and knocks out the Flash. As goofy as this all is, Ca𓄧ptain Boomerang quickly becomes a long time foe for the Flash.
Captain Boomerang And The Suicide Squad
𓂃Silver Age comics were too goofy for their own good, but soon in the late 80s to early 90s, DC fleshed out Captain Boomerang in his debut in The Suicide Squad volume 1 issue 44. This version of the character changes Digger's origins slightly but keeps most of the core elements the same. Digger is put onto the Suicide Squad with t𒁏he same deal as the other members; complete your mission to wipe your slate clean, or we activate the bomb implanted in you, and you die.
As a member of the Suicide Squad, Digger was, to put it lightly, a jackass that got on everyone's🃏 nerves. From getting teammates injured to getting Slipknot killed by convincing him that Amanda Waller's bomb implant was a hoax and he should escaꦑpe, only as an attempt to see how far the range of the bombs was on a live subject; conclusion the bombs worked and were quite lethal.
In one case, Ca𝓡ptain Boomerang lets his teammate Mindboggler get shot and killed because she humiliated Digger. Petty does not even begin to describe the guy. Nobody likes working with Di☂gger, but like a roach, he manages to survive nearly every encounter and proves his worth. Keep in mind Digger is a human with great accuracy and skill going against powerful foes.
Captain Boomerang's Later Adventures
During the DC Comics event Identity Crisis, Captai💯n Boomerang is revealed to have a son named Owen Mercer. Digger dies in I﷽dentity Crisis after being hired to kill Tim Drake's father, but not knowing he was set up. Owen's origins get a little convoluted, so bear with us. Owen's mother is fellow rogue Meloni Thawne, sister of Captain Cold, who conceived Owen in the 30th century when Digger was trapped in the future.
Coincidentally, Meloni gave birth to Bart Allen, the Kid Flash, making O🍸wen and Bart half brothers. Eventually, Owen is sent to our present time, and occasionally takes up the mantle of Captain Boomerang. Owen has shown to have speedster-like abilities by being able to run incredibly fast in short bursts, on top of his boomerang skills.
Back over to Digger, the loudmouth soon coꦺmeಞs back to life in the Blackest Night event. A black lantern ring brings a zombified Digger, who kills his son in his frenzied state. Because comics, Digger is chosen by a white lantern ring during the Brightest Day event and resurrected into a non-zombified state.
Connections To The Arkhamverse
Captain Boomerang has not appeared in the Arkham video game series but has brief mentions and ties into the world. Digger is mentioned briefly in Batman Arkham Origins when encountering some escaped prisoners who talk about 🐈a guy throwing boomerangs. The most prominent appearance Digger has had in the Arkham universe is his role in the animated movie Assault On Arkham, which takes place within the Arkham universe, and introduces the Suicide Squad. Outside of these entries, Rocksteady's Suicide Squad game will be the debut for a playable Captain Boomerang. Here✱ is hoping that Captain Boomerang will be as fun to play as he looked in the trailer!
