While the delay was said to be a response to the pushback the game had received as of late, many in the DC fanbase believe that nine months isn't long enough to address all of the issues they have with the game. These issues definitely don't end at the always online requirement either.
Over in the game's subreddit, fans share what they'd like to see from the delay, yet few are optimistic.
"10 Months is not eno🔥ugh to redesign a game which is built around being live service, impꦉlement those changes and then polish that new design too," says Reddit user Kairos56.
Many others agree that while they'd like to see some of the live service elements stripped back, it won't be enough to address every issue they have with the game. "It's too late for major gameplay changes, the foundation is already there, they can only skim off the layers like always-online," says WormsNutrientsAndLSD.
"I'm over it man, at one point this was my most anticipated game," agrees Billyb311. "There's delaying your game, and then there's this."

Of course, we don't know if Suicide Squad will make the same mistakes as Gotham Knights, but it's safe to say that development certainly isn't going as smoothly as many would like.
Sadly, it seems like the devs have their work cut out for them in a relatively short timeframe. February's State of Play was meant to drum up excitement for Suicide Squad, but now, it's the very reason that the game got hit with such a huge delay.
